TK421JR Posted July 5, 2003 Posted July 5, 2003 a newbie i am so after reading the IGN preview last night...they say that combat is 100% dice-roll-stats driven i thought there was real-time combat which is it?? and if it is stats based/dice roll only how will that work??
covenant_bad Posted July 5, 2003 Posted July 5, 2003 To the best of my knowledge the game has a similar approach to combat as baulders gate or NWN. It IS real time combat meaning you to attack the enemy, however performing a move is selected in a paused menu screen so that the battles play out very fluidic and naturally. Each move you do has certain amounts of damage and other properties(thaco) so e.g. jedi attacks dmg=42-2 and defenders armor=3 the jedi will do damage. This is what i think it will be like in the game. I hope this has explained it a little...
Burrie Posted July 5, 2003 Posted July 5, 2003 You might want to try the Neverwinter Nights demo which gives you a taste of what the combat will be like.
Jedi Apprentice Posted July 5, 2003 Posted July 5, 2003 The game has a turn-based, dice rolling engine that makes the combat run. The combat actually plays out in real-time, but has turn-based mechanics. Hopefully you can understand that jumble.
