Deft Aklin
Yep, I finally got off my lazy bum and wrote and article/guide for everyone to read. In game, I have a million people asking me how I am so successfuly soloing, here it is: http://www.swgalaxies.net/articles/article.php3?article_id=
impX
Cheers Deft. You wrote a nice and coherent article. Been meaning to look up some soloing advices and yours hit the spot. Glad you included a macro to use and/or expand upon
Deft Aklin
Thanks for the positive feedback impX If any of you are interested in something, and unable to find articles on it, feel free to forward you ideas to me. My next couple will probably be on Medics or Bio-Engineers. I was lost when I started as a BE, unfortunately there was little to help me on the web. Rychean
Very nice article Deft. I've been soloing my Scout, in much the same manner as you've written, for about a week now. The only thing I have a question about is the /heal self macro. As my scout has Scout/Brawler/Marksman skills, I am assuming I will need to get some stimpacks from bazaar or purchase some from a medic to begin working on my healing abilities. Usually I set up camp hang out and wait on my health to get back up. IF I'm over 1k meters from a city. If I'm not I kinda wing it and just make the decision on wether to run or not during the fight. I'm still extremely new to the game so I'm learning as I'm going. Which in itself hasn't been too bad but I seem to be having alot of trouble getting my survival techniques leveled up as I only use a camp for myself and usually get very minimal xp for it. Any suggestions on how to get a little more xp on Survival techniques as a soloer?
Deft Aklin
To be able to heal, you must, unfortunately, also be a medic. Sory, but I am sure you will find that the 21 Skill points it will cost you to become a Novice Medic with Organic Chemistry I is well spent. Exar_reborn
I was planning on going fencer/pistoleer but i'll have like 66 points left over and i'm looking to scout but do i really need trapping?
Deft Aklin
No, I don't use traps and I do quite fine. Actually, I need those skill points elsewhere.
Raynar
Great article. Never did know that I'd get more exp by using a worse weapon. Makes sense of course. Haven't really gotten the whole idea of armor as well. I haven't dabbled in many other professions either, something which I need to look into. Could I have parts of Marksman/Brawler/Scout and Medic and still be able to be a smuggler?
Ajo79
Good article. I play to play a scout/marksman combo so I'll sure pick up a few tips when I get my game.
Devlyyn Sarr
Hey Deft, great article . One suggestion though, that I surprisingly hardly see people doing. USE WARNING SHOT! This has saved my tail so many times and people just seem oblivious to its existance. Example: Last night I was hunting in a large group and someone aggro'd an entire lair of wrix. Including a Giant wrix. Anyway, these things were still conning red even though I was in a group of about 8 people. Everyone was just standing there trying to bodyshot a huge wrix at point blank range. They just kept on getting mauled and running around yelling for heals. Just warning shot them why dont ya?! I had to warning shot a few off of people then warning shot the one off me. I know you are saying this is in a group but its just as effective solo. I can take on white cons easily with this method. I usually health shot, body shot, warningshot, body shot, body shot, warning shot, body shot body shot and repeat until the creature is dead. Alot of times you can come away unscathed. Maybe people dont use it that much b/c warningshot doesnt do much damage but when you use healthshot they are gonna still be bleeding. It may take a little longer but it'll help keep your battle fatigue as well as wounds down to a minimum.
