lauser
I pretty much know how to use target_speakers now. But here is what I want to do-------> I have this M/P map I want to put a SORT-OF jukebox into. I have a special place to play multiple MP3's that I have combined together. In other words I took 3 MP3's and made them into one long MP3. So I now have 3 files to play in the map. I have 3 spots one right beside the other. If you stand in the one spot and press USE the MP3 will play. Only problem is if you stand in the other spot and do the same thing all chaos breaks loose and you wreck your hearing. So if you used all 3 you would be listening to garbage. Is there a way to start and stop the music in M/P? Also, can I block the other MP3's from being used until the song is either finished or you shut it off? This is my SORT-OF juke box. Or should I do some sort of scripting? Is that possible? Thanks in advance........
Lil Killa
well if u have all the music in on mp3 and all the speakers are playing the same mp3 that just use one trigger_multiple and link it to all three speakers. if u have 3 speakers that play diff songs than i would suggest making a triger multiple that goes to both a trigger multiple and then a target delay. then make the wait (or was it delay?) on the target delay so that it is one or 2 seconds longer than your first mp3. then from the target delay link to a new speaker and a new target delay and set the wait as before. then do the same to the third one. if that is what your trying to do and u need an example just pm me or post here. lauser
Well uumm..the basic thing is if I start playing the one MP3 which I have set to global so it plays the whole level.......The MP3 is about 6 min long and maybe 8 min. on another. So you're saying if I use target_delay and put a huge wait in there it should work? What about just shutting off the music being played? Then I can turn on the MP3 I want to hear and shut off the other one. Can this be done?
Lil Killa
well first off u can't turn off a speaker like that (atleast i have never heard of a way) also are u trying to play different parts of this super long mp3? if so forget it cause it's not gonna work:( If you have 3 of these supper long mp3's than i would have to tell u to consider what your file size will be a each minute of mp3 play time ids about 1 mb of of hard drive space. (not many people are gonna want to d/l a 30 mb map) Are the 3 different speakers u have all playing something different? or are they playing the same thing. If they are playing the same thing than just have one and only add more if it's not loud enough. but if u add more make sure to only use one trigger multiple and connect it to each speaker. S..S..S .\..|../ ...TM never mind the periods i needed them so it would space properly. S=speaker TM=trigger multiple.
Leslie Judge
He has 3 speakers with 3 different music. The target_speakers can be turned on/off only if they play looped sounds, which means you can't use MP3s and they can't be global. You have to make a system from trigger_multiples and target_relays and maybe trigger_onces to handle the target_speakers the way you want.
