Sam Fisher
I have that too on one of my comps, I don't know what the problem is, but I think its the video card isn't good enough.
wiseman7687
But that doesnt make sense.. i mean its lagging on the menu? if it was a bad video card wouldnt it lag in the game also? The game is very smooth graphics and smooth motion. So it is puzzling me lol.

AngryCookieman
The problem isn't the videocard. I got the game when it first came out and it worked fine, even with the latest updates, but I got a new hard drive and uninstalled everything and did a clean install and now I have the same problem you guys are having. Some of the in-game movies lag too, but the game runs fine once the levels start. I tried putting the game on the other hard drive, and tried installing older vidcard drivers, but nothing seems to work now. I also made sure that this was the only game I installed and I only installed the basic programs on my comp. to make sure nothing was conflicting with it. If anyone knows whats wrong, please let us know, because the game is awesome once you get your force powers. I have a gf2 gts/pro with 1.7gp4. I just ordered an ati 9500pro and would like to get this fixed before installing the new card. The only other thing I changed that I know of is I added microsoft word and excel. AngryCookieman
Forgot to mention that I have an audigy 2 with latest updates and my game is the legal, retail game, so it shouldn't be some antipiracy issue. Also, it's not like the computer is bogged down, the game isn't seeming to access the hard drive like it should. It just accesses it in split second bursts. I'm not using a no cd crack or an image on a virtual drive. Do you think that maybe it has issues because of adding a second hard drive? This wouldn't normally bother me much because once you finally get into the game the levels play fine, but it worked fine before I reformatted and did a clean install, and nothing I have tried seems to help. AngryCookieman
Okay, got mine fixed. I was looking at the problems people are having with slow loading and got to thinking that I was also having that problem since the reinstall. I had rolled my graphics card driver back from what was installed and it didn't help, but I didn't try going any further back because I had assumed that the problem must be something else. However, I just installed the older 4403 driver for my card from last november and it fixed ALL the problems I was having with the game. The newer drivers did do some things better, but being able to play this game again makes me :D . I always try to keep everything updated, but apparently this isn't always a good thing. Let me know if this helps.
