bullcrap
I have a question I could not find an answer to in a search or the manuel. I am new to RPG so forgive me if this is something I should know. When I equip one weapon in one hand I have a Damage of say 3-8. I understand that that means the damage I deal out will be between 3 and 8 points depending. Now I have an attack bonus of +5. But if I equip to weapons (two swords or blasters) my Damage stays 3-8 for both hands but now my bonuses are -5 and -1. How come these numbers are negative and how will if effect my ability to attack? When I look at Carth though he has two weapons and both of his bonuses are around +3 and +5. How come he can use two weapons with a high positive bonus but I cannot. I am a Scoundrel and have a dexterity of 17, but only 10 strength. Thank You. Katarn07
You are not proficient in two handed fighting, so therefore you have very high penalties for your off hand. I think that's your problem. As you progress in the game and level up, select two handed fighting as your feat. I did that for my main party members (Carth and Bastila) as well as my PC, so we can all deal out some moves without the penalties.
bullcrap
Ahh I see. Thank You. One more thing. It seems Strength, Charisma, Wisdom, Etc... cannot be upgraded by the player when you increase in level. Do these increase on their own?
Katarn07
They do, but at different times... Attributes (as you are talking about), skills, and feats occur at different times and rates for each class. I believe the scoundrel gets the most skills and doesn't get to up their feats much, while soldiers are the opposite of that and get lots of feats but few skills. Scouts are the happy median, and that is what my character is (well, was, but the Jedi Sentinel is the same in average progression.) Anyhow, as a scout I just uped DEX all the time when I got my attributes higher as a scout (that happened maybe one or two times, to bwe honest), but as a Jedi, I choose WIS (happened just as few times.) To really up them, find belts and gauntlets and visors to up those stats. Then for skills, you get the most upgrades, do as the computer says. I did for a while but really need some persuasion so I can get better deals and talk my way outta fights.
