Increasing ram

Hi!

 

I don't have SWG at the moment cause it isn't released yet in the UK... but i was just woundering what computer component i have to upgrade to get a higher RAM, at the moment i 256Mb which doesn't get me very fair on speed!

 

Also i'm thinking of getting a new video card, anyone got recommendations, 256mb min but i don't really want to spend any more than £125 ($200)

 

Any help is greatly appreciated

well to upgrade ur RAM simply find out the type of RAM ur currently using, and then buy the exact same kind of RAM. u can find this out by contacting ur computer company or opening ur computer to actually look at your RAM. OR better yet (i just remembered this) go to http://www.crucial.com and they should be able to match what RAM u need exactly.

 

as for the video card. go to http://www.pricewatch.com for good prices. and before u buy anything go to http://www.geforcezone.com/ and ask around the forums there. people at that site know a lot about that stuff and can help u a ton.

You need to make sure you have room for more ram. Do you have 2 sticks of 128mg? if so take them both out and get 2 sticks of 256. If you just ahve one stick of 256 and you have 2 ram slots in your mobo. Which you most likely do then just get one more stick of 256. Although 1 stick of 512 is actually better. Then keep your 256 mg just in case you need a spare.

 

A 256mg video card? A 128mg card will play any game out today and for the next several years. Newegg.com has some great prices and great service for hardware as does Googlegear.com

 

Look for a Leadtek card. I have had numerous and they are very nice and have great features. A ti4400 or Ti4600 are both very nice cards and are under the $200 mark yet will perform great.
