DK_Viceroy
I've sorted it out i think so it shouldn't be much of a problem and also added in some things i couldn't remember when i get an idea i think it's far more important to get all of it down. it should be readable now I Hope
kovelev
i think the game couldnt be complete without the techno union army
Admiral Vostok
I think it would. The Techno Union Army uonly featured as part of the Confederacy. Separate from them, they would have only Battle Droids, Super Battle Droids and Techno Union Rockets. Not much for an entire civ.
Sithmaster_821
Yeah, I have a rule that posts over 1 page long get the skim treatment, half a page if they are just one big paragraph or sans punctuation (or both:D) The Techno Union is crap without the Confeds, and the confeds are crap without the techno union. AU_Skythe
Lucas seemed to have no problem with the civs in SWGB. Imagine if they made them unique, there are so many units that could be used as a civ. As for civs my opinions change and im aware that maybe a few civs will reflect ep3. I hear the wookies are in it, battle of kashyyk anyone?. Anyhow. 1. Naboo 2. Gungans the designs for SWGB were just too good and its too unstarwarsly to leave these guys out. I bet you any money heaps of people bought the game just for the gungans, even though a lot of people dont like them or act like they dont like them they are a fun civ and like it or not play a role in the star wars universe. The naboo-ians also played a major role in 1 of the movies and cannot be ignored. 3. Republic 4. Confederacy Major major star wars roles, both these would be included with their respective alliances. 5. Wookies popularity cant be ignored, plus i think they may play a semi major role in ep3. 6. Galactic Empire 7. Rebels Obvious reasons 8. TF Fully-featured in one SW movie, they still play a role in ep2. Their army fights more side-by-side the confed army like aussies would fight by us in vietnam war and so forth. Their role is debatable, they could in theory join confed as a civ but i think it would be better to leave them as their own civ now. Who knows maybe come ep3 they will leave the confederacy. ------------- I think that borderlines the civs, but if any more be included.. 9. New republic 10. Vong I know absolutely nothing about these civs but they supposed to be major major EU civs so they would probably be the best *unless* major civ is in ep3. 11. Alderaan I expect to see the planet alderaan in ep3, and whether it is a very much united type civ such as naboo or a very seperate one like tatooine we shall see. 12. Tatooine Very much a planet of seperate organisations, i think again the role of these dudes depends on their content in ep3. Most likely not, as tatooine has already proved itself as an ununited civilisation, and the hutts are a very minor organisation compared to the scale of some others. As for crappy minor civs. Civs not to be included 12. Ewoks They played a very minor role, and are a lot less intelligent than the gungans, their war machines go as far as wooden catapults and cardboard gliders. 13. Other general crappy minor civs. Trandoshans, EU civs that get 1 mention, characters belonging to certain civilisations which appear in movies. Chewie is an exception as everyone loves chewy and its proven that he has his comrades *i think*. btw, i never remember seeing a trandoshan in any SW movies. when did they make an appearance or get a mention? Edit: now come to think of it making 8 completely unique civilisations is a big task. It could be cut down to 6 by combining gungans & naboo and trade federation & confederacy if it is too-big of task for lucasart to mod;)
saberhagen
Bossk was a Trandoshan. We saw him in EpV on the bridge of the Executor with all the other bounty hunters. I think Trandoshans are pretty cool, but I'm happy with them just being bounty hunters and toybox units in SWGB. I don't think you could justify an entire civ. eizo131
I think the Mandolorians would be a great civ. IF SWGB was set in the same time as KOTOR, other than that can't see a way to put them in.
Admiral Vostok
Mandalorians would be too similar to the Republic except for Jedi, I believe. Skythe: You have a good point about Alderaan, we probably will see a large amount of it in Episode III, however I don't think they'll have an army going on Leia's line "Alderaan is peaceful, we have no weapons". But something we hadn't thought of none the less.
Connemara2100
Realistically, not that many civs are needed, but there shoudl be more variety within them. Like some others said, there shoudl be Mon Cal, for instance, within the Rebel Alliance. You could have each different type of unit a different alien species (for instance, grenade troopers could be Sullustans and so forth), or, even more realistically, when you are creating your troops it chugs out different aliens. So like your army of troopers would consist of Mon Cal, Humans, Twi-Lek, Rodian, Duros, Sullustans and so forth. And the Empire would only have humans. And so forth. However, being a huge EU fan, I would die to see the Yuuzhan Vong and the Ssi Ruuk in a game.
lukeiamyourdad
You're an EU fan:eek:! Vostok will have your head for that Anyway, we thought of the spawning different aliens for the jedi but it was ultimately turned down due to technical problems. We just thought it would require more from your comp and maybe even too much.
saberhagen
I don't think it would be that hard to implement and wouldn't necessarily be very resource heavy (although it depends on the engine and the graphics in general). The real problem is with identification. In practice it's important for units of the same type to look the same so you can instantly see what they are. One way around this could be to pick your jedi species at the start of the game and all your jedi are of that species. This could also go for bounty hunters. After all there's no real reason why a particular type of bh should be tied to a particular civ, because they're supposed to be hired.
Connemara2100
I like that concept for bounty hunters a lot, but I dunno about Jedi... Gameplay wise, having different species for the same civ would make it more difficult. I was speaking from the perspective of reality...it *is* harder to tell the difference between armies because they are a motley crew. But that could be gotten around by having drastically different uniforms, or some other form of identification.
