install/uninstall prob

Have successfully used JK2 in the past and have hit a big problem.

 

Something went wrong when I tried to access the game/starting menu through my hard drive and the original cd. This error occures:

 

Guru meditation failure

Assertion Failed: "LecSetup_GetSetup(g_Env["DataDir],&mpLec

Abnormal Termination

 

same error when i try to re-install w/disc (play, reinstall, ect, menu won't even come up)

 

i went to add/remove programs, tried to remove, and error:

 

An installation support file could not be installed

The system cannot find the file specified

 

now i can't even uninstall the game and it is stuck in my comp!

 

I thought I might try to manually delete all JK2 files if I can find them all, or if worse comes to worse, use my recovery cd to wipe out my computer and start from scratch: owww! (have tried system restore as well)

 

Any suggestions would be very helpful, thanks.

try seeing if you cant download recleaner.com from like http://www.download.com or something. That program will pull up all registered files in the computer, and look for any references to Jedi Knight and also try updating your sound card and video card, and after running regcleaner and installing, try loading the latest 1.03 and 1.04 patches
