I usually charge by the hour, taking into account how long it takes to get there. This party is pretty close, but has me playing for half an hour, waiting around for two hours, then playing another hour. So I have relatively little playing, but it's gonna take my entire afternoon and evening. I'm going to have to charge for the dead time, because I can't leave the room during those two hours, lest some rowdy child come along and tip the harp over. But I can't charge as much as for the actual playing time. So you see my dilemma.
