    (by the way, I was around back then - searching for MI on Netscape and discovering that Lucasarts were making Curse- and  I remember the webring thing as the best way to find related sites. I just never tried the IRC thing. Probably because I could only access the web during breaks between courses at uni)

    Yes, but that would have the O on the same yellow position again. I did try NO on all 4 out of 6 possible positions (none recognised).

    First I always play the same two words, “counter” and “display”. For wildcard words I then try to make a short enough word with only the confirmed letters - to rule out the length and the positions of the #. Since there was only a Y and no vowel, that didn’t leave a lot of choice yesterday. I exhausted just a single Y and WHY on every position (all were rejected) before trying MY.

     

    Same thing today. Looking at the letters I had, this was the first word with just those letters and some in the correct position I could spot.
