  1. Wow. That's some serious knowledge accumulation. I've got Executive Orders sitting on my bookshelf, and I intend to read it during the winter break. I've started the beginning, and I already immensely enjoy Clancy's writing style. As for the tax, they spun it off as an emergency one, and continued it? Right now, the Government (both state and Federal) takes nearly 30% of my parent's income- a fact that I'm revolted by.

I remember reading about turning Germany into an agrarian nation (and it makes sense how that plan never did gain much momentum). Today, however, it has one of the highest GDPs in the world, if I'm correct. It seems we gave no relief to conquered nations (save for rebuilding infrastructure and government the way we saw fit).

Pertaining to World War II and Roosevelt, I do recall reading that the intelligence agencies (I don't remember if the CIA was around then, or what was in its place) keep data from the morning of December 7th, 1941 classified. It seems as though, in keeping with what you said, that Roosevelt did his best to get us into the war, no matter the cost.

Thanks for all of the info, mach. It's been very interesting and informative. ;)
