  1. Hi everyone, I was wondering if there is a plan to resurrect the old websites dedicated to LucasArts games Soundtracks. I accidentally deleted some of the soundtracks I've downloaded in the past and I cannot find them anymore. Particularly, I am missing the FLAC version of the Sam & Max Hit the Road Soundtrack recorded from SC-55 by LogicDeluxe; maybe someone could help me find it/share it with me...
  2. Here's the full LucasArts catalogue up until now.
  3. Hi guys! I got a questions about MI2 SE engine. What exactly 2D/3D engine is it? Is it just updated scummvm system to HD format and platforms? or Is it something what had to be done from scratch? I seen some 3d modeling work for the game, so is it 2.5D engine? Is it possible to get to the source code and use the engine (try out)? thanks
  4. THE WALT DISNEY COMPANY COMPLETES LUCASFILM ACQUISITION While not a press release from LucasArts I thought this worth posting as LucasArts is now owned by Disney instead of George Lucas. At this point it's anyone's guess as to what will happen with LucasArts, LucasArts's existing games, contracts, website, Star Wars fan forums like this one and games in development. But considering how poorly LucasArts has performed over the last few years or so I'm hopeful that things won't get any worse.
  5. Hello Pirates! Just wanted to let you know that I'm selling a grog bottle on ebay! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=121123586850#ht_560wt_1397 Check it out! it's a very very RARE ITEM!
  6. LucasArts' demise is still fresh in everyone's minds and you might wonder if another look into LucasArts' history is worth it. Well, Gameinformer's LucasArts Post-mortem article "Fall Of The Empire: How Inner Turmoil Brought Down LucasArts" is definitely worth the read. It goes into the mismanagement, the unrealistic ambitions, George Lucas crazyness and more! Some quotes: On Jim Ward: On Lucas' imput: On what could have been: On LucasArts' relationship with the defunct Battlefront III project's Free Radical: And there's so much more George Lucas madness and tragic anecdotes. "B.J. Dart". Haha.
  7. Although there already was another thread for this same topic, I decided to start a new one since the thread's starter is not any more on the team and so I was unable to update the first post. I apologize for the inconveniences this may cause and I ask the administrators to lock the other topic, located here is proud to share the launch of the new Forge fan-game website and domain. Unfortunately "forge.com" wasn't available, but I think "forgegame.com" is simple and clear enough. This choice comes with some changes in the website: don't expect flying swans and interactive distaffs though. There's been a complete revision of the text and some invisible yet useful changes in the code. For those who aren’t familiar with the project, please visit the Story section in our website. There you will find a synopsis of Forge’s mother-game, Loom, along with a brief explanation of what our fan-made sequel seeks to accomplish. But since I've posted here, the least I can do is giving a brief explanation: Forge is an adventure game in the style of early nineties LucasArts' games. It's a full-length game, which will require some hours to be completed. Following the steps of his predecessor, Forge will be less interactive than most of the adventure of those days, because there will be neither a text-parser nor a verb GUI as the main interface. All basic interactions will be done with a single-click, but a special GUI will be used to "draw schematics". Schematics are some sort of spells that can be cast by the main character thanks to his special gauntlets, allowing him to control reality and achieve wondrous effects. But I think it's time to give you something to "nibble". Let's start with a couple of backgrounds: Here you can see GUI and the home of Prof.Penumbra, that will help Rusty in his quest. This is the Guild of Miners, in all its splendour. And this one's a charming view of one of the caves. You can find some more in the Gallery section of our website of course. Some tech info: Resolution: 320x200 Colour depth: 16 bit Music&SFX: ogg, 128kbps Dubbed: complete, only English Translations: multi-language Engine: Adventure Game Studio Current team members: Abisso: game designer/coder/touch-ups Selmiak: webmaster Valecene: proofreader, concept-artist A lot of other people have been outsourced in these years: graphic artists, animators, musicians. We're in desperate need of: -Spriters (pixel-art) -Background artists (pixel-art) -Musicians -SFX technicians And we gladly accept also: -English voice-actors -Translators -Beta-testers I strongly encourage you to check our Tech Demo, visit our Forum and drop a message in the Project Assistance Sub-Board. The plan is to release a demo this Spring: that will be the last demo before the full-game release and it will look exactly like it, except it will only be playable until the end of Chapter One. I hope the demo will trigger a cycle of enthusiasm and help us fill the missing positions in our team. Even now any contribution is more than welcome, be that a Donation or an offer to volunteer your skills. Donors will receive: CREDIT! It goes without saying that you’ll receive credit for your generosity on our website / forum / completed game. CUSTOM REQUEST! Want to see something personal in Forge? You’ll have the chance to ask our team to include something meaningful to you, be it a bit of dialogue, an item, a special animation, etc. We do have to keep this within reason ( e.g., no chickens with pumpkin heads ), so conditions do apply; but we’ll work with you to make it special. BRAG! You have the right to tell people: «Hey, I worked on that game!» wink. Stay tuned for more information, and please visit us often! ********************** 20 December 2013 Update Forge: Chapter One has been released.CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD IT.
  8. Hey all, my name is Tim Temmerman. I worked at Lucasarts for 10 years up until the Disney acquisition and closure. I was a Designer and Producer on titles like Indiana Jones and The Emperor's Tomb, Star Wars Galaxies, The Old Republic, and Star Wars First Assault. Another fellow Lucasarts teammate, Matt Boland, and I have been working on a new game called Super Roman Conquest. It's a sidescrolling strategy game with 2D sprites in a 3D world, based in the setting of Ancient Rome. (Sorry we couldn't make another Star Wars game ). We just got done with a trailer (with music scored by former Lucas employee Jesse Harlin) and wanted to show you guys: We're hoping to get the game funded through Kickstarter so we can release it next Summer. The art you see is temporary, but we're bringing another Lucas artist on the team to help define the art. Anyway, take a look, and please let us know if you have any questions or comments. Thanks and sorry for the shameless plug! - Tim
  9. Hey guys, i'm new to the forum, and I´ve been digging like crazy to try and find something about this problem (also here in the forum) and found nothing. It's also a startup problem, but a little different than the ones i've seen around. I bought the cd of the Monkey Island Special Edition Collection, which includes both the new Secret of Monkey Island and Monkey Island 2: Le Chuck's Revenge. After the installation the game goes to a menu window, where I can choose to play The Secret or Monkey 2, listen to the game's musics or check the art concept of the games. Listening to the background musics or watching the concept art works alright. The problem is, when I choose to play any of the 2 games the menu closes, the CD (which this game's version asks for if you want to start the game) stops rotating and that's it!! It simply doesn't start up! No crash reports, no blue/red agonazing window, nothing. I tried the graphic .ini thing (this version aparently doesn't have this file, only the .pak ones), tried to disable the sound enhancement, tried loads of things, nothing worked. The pc is really new, I bought it last week, and was dying to play this games.... The laptop configs are: Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 (7601.win7sp1_gdr.120503-2030) System Manufacturer: Dell Inc. 10. Hi there. I love the people’s creative ideas. I finished the game a few years ago, and is still one of my top favourites, dispite the graphics, it’s very good for that time. I think this game will be excellent in developing a movie, with the original actor voices.Whether as an animation or even real life movie, but a movie might be too expensive. Based on the old game, I would suggest that if a new ‘The Dig’ game would be made, it should keep the actors voice, with an enhanced or remastered soundtrack, with high quality graphics, but still to keep the sort of ‘ pastel sketches of the old game into the new game, otherwise the game might loose the original feeling of the landscapes and atmosphere found in the pastel sketches. Who agrees? And maybe the game could be longer, with more scenes from the book. If there wil ever be a game or movie made, sign me up 
  11. Star Wars: The Old Republic Jumps to Light Speed Hmmm.... I'm sure the person that wrote the title for this release wasn't trying to rub it in SWG's face or anything.
  12. December 20, 2011 06:00 AM Eastern Time EA, BioWare and LucasArts Usher in a Force in Online Games as Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ Goes Live Today So I'm just a wee bit late in posting this one. I blame it on the fact that on December 20 I was already engrossed with playing this game and couldn't be bothered with paying attention to trivial things like press releases.
  13. Grim Fandango Widescreen: (This BBCode requires its accompanying plugin to work properly.) Grim Fandango with remastered locations adapted for widescreen aspect ratio. I hope you'll like it. Cheers

  15. LucasArts Signs Multi-Year, Studio-Wide Unreal Engine 3 Licensing Agreement I guess this means LucasArts' in-house developed Ronin engine used on Star Wars: The Force Unleashed and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 is getting tossed. Perhaps the integration of movie and video game development assets didn't work out as well as envisioned.
  16. IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT STAR WARS GALAXIES™ For some reason I really thought that SWG would continue so long as it was profitable. Obviously I thought wrong.
  17. Two years ago I remember finding actual working Curse of Monkey Island web site, now it's gone. Lucasarts has removed all of the old websites from their games list. Can anyone tell me or direct me to a place where I can find archived or backed up copies of these web sites (Curse of Monkey Island, Grim Fandango)? Or at least materials that were used on it (backgrounds, images etc.) Somebody must have saved some of the stuff from oblivion? Thanks in advance Luka
  18. Hypothetical - Lucas Arts lays off too many people, and cannot make Republic Commando 2. They have to contract out to make it. What Studio/developer should get the privilage of making a true Star Wars shooter?
  19. I finally got around to playing Psychonauts for the first time this month after a sale on Steam. Absolutely loved it! But it also gave me the germ of an idea for interpreting the first two Monkey Island games, and figuring out perhaps what the great secret is. Here are the results: the OTHER Secret of Monkey Island (This BBCode requires its accompanying plugin to work properly.)
  20. Back by Popular Demand, LOOM, The Dig, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, and Star Wars Battlefront II Headline List of Games Soon to be Available via Direct Download! I thought this was exciting news. Here's to hoping for even more Star Wars classic games on Steam.
  21. Entertainment Weekly apparently got an exclusive first look at a new Star Wars game in the works and has posted a trailer for the game on their website. According to ew.com Star Wars The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes is scheduled for a September 15 release and will allow gamers to play both Jedi and clone trooper characters. Krome Studios is listed as developer for Republic Heroes. The big shocker for me came at the end of the video trailer when I saw the Games for Windows Live logo. LucasArts is going to release a game for the PC?! Whoa! Stop the presses! In addition to PC the game also looks like it will be coming to Playstation, Nintendo Wii and DS, and Xbox 360 platforms. 22. hi there! i hope to be right here in this sub-forum. if not, i'm sorry, just put it off. and by the way: sorry for contingently mistakes, but i am from germany and still learning english at school. who of you still knows the old classic adventure game day of the tentacle? surely almost everyone. we, a crowd of crazy adventure-fans, are the ones, who revive bernard and his friends. since 2003 we're working on a worthy follower, which has the title "day of the tentacle 2 - return of the tentacles". it is an unofficial project for free, but the final result will be great and nostalgic. a lot of work is already done. on our website http://www.dott2.org, also with an english version, you can see some (older) screenshots, a two year old trailer and other stuff and information. in a few days a nice promotion-video will follow. just take a look, it would be nice to become more popular. as you also can see, we're permanently searching for new members, especially in the graphics area. there are also areas for the music, sound-effects, voices and dialogues, but i am not sure if there are needs. just ask! if there is someone of you, who is interested in drawing characters and backgrounds and/or making animations, just shout. however, the faster way would be an email to info@dott2.org. we are happy about each new helper, so you're welcome. we already have one english speaking member, so dont worry, everything's good. thats all. if there is nobody who wants to join us, i although would be pleased to receive some positive as well as negative comments. what do you think? tentacle-greetings from germany.
  23. Star Wars®: The Force Unleashed™ Expands Again! New Downloadable Content and New Special Retail Edition Coming this Fall! Not mentioned in this press release for an unknown reason is that the Ultimate Sith Edition is coming to both PC and Mac. That was a total surprise to me, though a pleasant one.
  24. LucasArts Announces Lucidity™ This game doesn't interest me all that much and since I don't own an Xbox 360 it doesn't matter anyway. I do think it's good to see LucasArts shaking things up and trying to do things to keep their games development fresh.
