Prime
The install wizard seems to freeze on me after the status bar reaches the finish. I got it from pcgamemods.com. Anyone else have this problem? Currently I only have DirectX 8.1 installed (JA requires 9.0). I'm assuming that doesn't make a difference with the wizard, but does it do something during installation that might give it problems without the required DirectX version? Thanks for any help
Gabrobot
It might not have actually frozen...give it a few minutes and it may wake up.
Prime
I'll give it a try, but it does say "not responding" in the task manager...
Prime
Is anyone running JA on Windows 98 SE?
Andy867
I would try to go and update the DirectX since that has a lot to do with how the game physics and graphics will be handled. The install may have some coding left over from the full version that does a check for DX 9.0 and that is why it is crashing... Anyone confirm this with 98SE? Prime
I downloaded the demo again from lucasfiles and it worked. The one I got from pcgamemods.com had some ad at the beginning, and the lucasfiles one didn't. It worked the second time around. Thanks Andy

Where did you get yours from? The Lucasfiles one eventually worked for me...
Kurgan
I got mine from AOL. Like I said, it eventually worked. I had to reboot a few times and it finally was able to completely install.
markg7
I can't get the demo to work. I've downloaded three different copies of it, but every time i try to run it, i get as far as the bit asking for your e-mail at the start. Whether i go through that or skip it, i immediately get an illegal operation error before the installer even starts. I downloaded the latest catalyst drivers for my 9500 pro, but that didn't help. I've also tried to run the demo on another machine, and it ran the installer OK, so it's definately my machine. I'm running Windows 98 SE. I'm going to try defragging and running a virus check tonight, but anyone got any other ideas in case that doesn't work? Cheers
