Souljah
I'm getting annoyed with having to cycle through my force powers every time - do you guys map all your forces seperately or just the "essentials".....
StormHammer
For the demo, just go into Controls->Force Powers and change the default keys to anything you like. Personally for JO and now the JA demo I'm using... ESDF for movement A for Absorb Q for Quick (Speed) W for Wound (Heal) R for Repel (Push) V for Pull T for Mind Trick X for Protection Z for Sense (Seeing) That setup works well for me. MattJedi
I use Delete key: Push End key: Pull Pg Down: Speed Pg up : mind trick Home: Heal Insert: Absorb Then I just use the cycle key and keep it on lightning or whatever i use occasionally like sense. jangofett9999
I tend to use default layout, but one trick I love is to map push to mwheelup and pull to mwheeldown. It is nice to have them at the fingertip. Just drag em in or roll em out!
JediNyt
I use the default mapping cause its well organized it just takes some memorization. For pull and push though I use mouse buttons 4 and 5. It works very well assuming you have 5 mouse buttons.
Deadeye
Mouse wheel up = force push Mouse wheel down = force pull WADS + mouse aiming SPACE = jump Shift = crouch E= use R= speed H=heal F=lightning Q=mindtrick I got used to: X=absorb C=sense V=protect -I know I can map better, but I stuck with it b/c it stuck with me. I also have a MS intellimouse wireless optical mouse with two more buttons on it. The little button is Lightning, and the bigger button is grip. I have fell in love with the mouse wheel being push and pull. It's so easy and intuitive. On the negative side I do sometimes switch saber stances by accident as mouse wheel button does that. Khaza
I have a little bit different approach wasd = movement q = pull e = push For rest of the forces I have created script that changes keys and forces at the same time. r,t,f,g = other forces pgup & pgdn = change forces/keys
ebelleudy
Mine is hard to remember, but I found it offered the most easily-accessed keys : I'll put the fingering also : finger 1 is the thumb and so on T : forward, finger 3 H : strafe right, finger 2 F : strafe left, finger 4 V : backward, finger 1 W : jump finger 5 (but I'm on an AZERTY so for me it's Z) E : crouch finger 5 push and pull on mouse 3 and 4 (intellimouse explorer), and weapon scroll on mwheel (although I'll be giving a thought on push/pull there) now with how my hand is disposed for movement, I can press for force powers : G finger 3 (heal in SP) R finger 4 (speed) Y finger 2 (protect) U finger 2 (absorb) C finger 1 (seeing) B finger 1 (grip) N finger 1 (lightning) J finger 2 (rage) X finger 1 (drain life) force powers bindings may vary in MP depending on light/dark side so basically, the idea is to have the maximum keys available with minimum finger movement... been using the T,F,H,V,Z on any quake like since.... doom likes (2D movement) evolved into quake likes (3D movements). ebelleudy
master_thomas
Mine was pretty different from most. When I played the JK2 demo for the first time, I couldn't stand trying , to memorize which function key does what, so I immediately developed a set up that was easy to remember (for me at leaast) and was easily accessible. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ forward, back, left, and right: arrow keys. attack: space and mouse1 alt attack: mouse2 jump: page up sidestep: left and right on the numpad. Push: forward on numpad Pull backward on numpad speed:+ lightning: - grip: / mindtrick: numlock (I expected to encounter problems with this, but didn't) absorb: 3 on the numpad protect: 9 on the numpad sense (sight): 0 on the numpad drain:home rage:end ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I think that's everything. It works well because my left hand controls movement, lightsaber stance, and weapon selection while my right hand, which uses the mouse, has access to the force via the thumb.
