ChineseJedi
Could someone tell me what this means. "-----sound initialization------- Initializing Direct Sound -Ancient version of DirectX - this will slow FPS locked hardware. ok" That is what it said in the console after I changed my sound quality from high to low. I have Direct X if I'm not mistaken.

Walwi Makno
You need Direct X 9 To see what version you have, go to Start > Run and type in "dxdiag" (and press enter). The version information is at the bottom of the first screen. If you don't have the newest version, you can download it from Microsoft

Sam Fisher
Is this happening for MP or SP? Try editing the SP or MP cfg files to get to sound back to high.
Andy867
for which game is this happening? and what are your system specs?
Kurgan
All LucasArts games come with a "system analyzer" program, either with the install or on the CD. Run that and see if it gives you any errors.
