LoneJedi
Ive been playing my heart out in this game but an unusual error popped up when I got to the Byss mission. And has plagued me ever since. The game freezes upon finishing a game load. It happens in single and multiplayer as well. Im hoping someone here has an idea, anyway here are my specs to help me out. AMD Athlon XP 2400+ Radeon 9800 Pro 256 1 GB DDR Ram thanks
JediNyt
Ive been having crash issues too but theyre different ones. Ive got the full game. Every once in a while when Im in game the game will completely freeze and so will my comp and I have to force restart. And just now It froze a little differently. The screen went blue and the sound froze. I dont know what the deal is. It pisses me off especially when Im on a role and then I have to start over again. Wes Janson
If you're having freezing issues, you might want to check your video card. I used to have freezing problems too -- it turned out that my video card was overheating. So whenever I want to play a graphically intensive game, I yank off the cover and put a huge-ass fan near the video card, and I haven't had a freezing problem since. Ever... Andy867
try turning off Dynamic glow, Force Feedback for the mouse, and try updated video drivers, and if EAX is enabled, try disabling it. Just some suggestions from a guy that is 7 hours away from getting the game.
JediNyt
Ive got a high end card. ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128mb. My processor is 1.6 ghz so I dont think I should be having these problems. Well maybe my pc isnt quite fast enough for full detail in the game. What does dynamic glow do anyway? I cant see a difference.
Wes Janson
NEVER underestimate the danger of heat. I've got an aluminum case with fans up the wazoo. I thought I would never have a heating problem again. I was wrong. If it's a possibility, I'd troubleshoot it first before ruling it out.

Also, make sure you have the newest Catalyst drivers from ATI's site (http://www.ati.com/), and check the display settings for OpenGL. I haven't had any freezing or crashing problems on my system...I have a Radeon 9800 Pro, PIII 866mhz, Audigy 2 Platinum, 512MB RAM. I'm running Windows XP...what OS are you using? I've heard that there are problems in Windows 98.

In the game, turn off your saber, go over to a dark corner and turn the saber on, you will notice that NOW, sabers cast light onto wals more and look better, dynamic glow will make them look like how they did in Outcast. Andy867
I've just been re-informed that Dynamic lights casts the saber glow onto the walls, whereas dynamic glow gives lights in the game a warm glow. But try turning the shadow option to simple or off, because that will save FPS.. So keep dynamic lights ON, but turn dynamic glow OFF.
Kurgan
Raven recommended this method for cooling down your pc (for JK2): Take the sides off your tower (make sure not to spill coffee in there or shock yourself!). This will increase the air flow. Now what I do is take an industrial box fan, and point it directly at the guts of the computer (making sure not to let it vibrate the tower so it's not touching it) and leave it on all the time. It may be ugly and a little loud (can't hear it with headphones on anyway) but it gets the job done, and better than the two little mini fans I have in the case already). Overclocked systems and video cards produce a lot of heat, especially when they're working overtime on a game!
LoneJedi
Ill try the dynamic glow and such, but I doubt its overheating because, I play Raven Shield which is much more intensive with no problems. That and I have a Raidmax tower which has fans up the wazoo. thanks

Silent Bob
I'm getting not so much a crash or freeze, but it doesn't go past the cutscene when kyle lets go of the electric pipe after I pump out the water he screams something like "your joking right". Then he can't get all the way up top thru the hole, and falls down and just stands there. I can't bypass it. So I deleted the save and went and did the previous level twice. Still no luck. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
