Quillan
Ok, first the problem, then the situation: Problem: I have an Audigy 2 sound card, which SHOULD be fully compatible with all versions of EAX (Creative defines the EAX standard, after all). With EAX disabled, I get full sound from all 4 corner speakers, and have to push the Matrix button on the center channel speaker to get sound from it. Environmental effects are, of course, not there. When I enable EAX, I get full 5.1 surround sound with environmental effects (sounds SWEET), but I lose the music completely. It would not really be an issue in normal gameplay, as I don't really pay attention to it and am a bit distracted by the sound effects, but in the cinematic cutscenes some of the audio track is missing. As an example, if I start a new game, I get music during the Star Wars logo and scrolling text, but when it starts the scene of the shuttle descending, I have no sound until it goes to the interior view and the characters start talking. I have voices, but no ambient sound or music. Situation, and this is why I am afraid I am screwed unless I upgrade my OS: I still use Windows 98 SE as my operating system. In order to get some of the controls for the Audigy 2 to work, I had to remove the WDM drivers and install the VXD drivers that came on the CD with the card. I lose certain features of the Audigy 2 by doing this, but the volume/speaker/mixing controls work now, as does the environmental effects. There are NO updated VXD drivers for this card, and according to the Creative site, never will be. Anyone know if there is another reason why I am losing music and ambient sound in the cutscenes? I am afraid I will need to upgrade to Windows XP in order to update the drivers.
Silent Bob
It's just not you either(see my specs). I've updated my drivers and done everything possible and still no good results.
ShannonKnight
Almost same problem here with a Creative Live! Player 5.1 I'm running on a WinXP Pro machine and every other game works fine with EAX. But if I enable it with JA I hear only music, but no voices. I really hope there will be a fix out soon. Andy867
Yea, apparently there has been some kind of conflict for some time now, even with Jedi Outcast, people with Audigy 2 cards experienced lock-ups/crashes/looping/no sound/voices and the alike. What can be done, hopefully a patch from either Creative or Raven at best.
ShannonKnight
Well I doubt it's Creatives fault. And I'm not even using an Audigy card but the live 5.1 player. *sigh*

Silent Bob
Mainly it's just on the Korriban level's. It seems theres not enough sound channels open and only a few sounds get processed. Such as grunts, saber hits, no music; and if theres several people in a saber fight then only a few get played. I know creative has got new drivers as of last week, I installed them and the JA patch. I'm going to uninstall the creative drivers and use driver cleaner to get the remnent files out and reg entries. I'll get back to ya's when I've done it. Silent Bob
Well no luck. I had to turn EAX and sounds return. No help from drivers or JA patch. Well I'm out of ideas.

I'm having the same problem! It looks like it only happens in that MP level.
Silent Bob
No it's not the MP level. It's the last 2 level's in SP that I have a problem in.
