Tsaya
I'd like to hear your thoughts about secrets in JA: is anyone out there really trying to find them? I mean, why should I bother? It's not like you get a reward for it like you used to in JK 1. Whenever I find a secret it's nothing but a few health packs or shield boosters. And most of the time they are just useless because there's a recharging-station right next to them. So what did Raven think when they put them in? If it was not for the sound and the note I wouldn't even notice I found a secret area. Personally I would prefere it a lot if secret areas would add to force powers (not permanently of course, maybe for like 3 minutes) but only be reachable by the practice of good acrobatics. Give wall grabs, wall runs, force jump some purpose and put secrets in that require the skill of a jedi to find.
txa1265
As someone detailing secrets (see the walkthrough thread) I completely agree that they are useless. But they are there. They represent unexplored area. I want to see it all, to find it all ... so I do. Too bad - yet another missed opportunity, in my opinion. Don't give us much for finding them - but give us SOMETHING ... Mike
Kurgan
The only benefit to finding secrets is personal satisfaction and whatever power-ups or items you find in them, nothing more. Unfortunately... but I remember a lot of people complained that gaining force stars for finding all the secrets in JK/MotS was "unrealistic" so maybe that had something to do with it... txa1265
To me, the 'Best Secret-Finding Reward Idea ' Award for 2003 goes to Elite Force II, for allowing you to collect 'points' (starships) towards unlocking secret levels. I understand - and share to a point - the criticism of the JK system. I liked the Deus Ex system best - very RPG-ish, you just get experience points towards skill upgrades. Heck, I'd have been happy with anything ... Mike
