Guest DarthMaulUK
Received an email today saying that the Q&A with Garry is off as he has left Lucasarts. I don't know any other information at this time and as for his new project, again, no information as such. Once I know, i will of course pass it on to you guys. Sithmaster_821
*sobs* Does that mean no SWGB2? I think that I've just lost all purpose in life....
Admiral Vostok
Dangerous and disturbing this news is. It is up to us to remain loyal, and LucasArts will see the sense in a new Star Wars RTS.
Darth Windu
People, people, dont get so worked up. Just because Gaber left doesnt mean it's the end of the world, there are plenty of talented programmers in the wide world, and im sure lucasarts employs many of them. The end of Gaber doesnt mean the end of SWGB2.
Guest DarthMaulUK
Garry was the programmer, he was the Director for the game. In otherwords, his vision WAS the game, with input from George Lucas I guess. It probably hasn't stopped the making of the new RTS but at a guess it sounds as if the project has been put back - maybe. I am not sure, my contact isn't sure. The only thing I have managed to do is give GB.com EXCLUSIVE interviews and screens once the game is closer to be released/annouced. It could be a long wait DMUK
Admiral Vostok
On a semi-related note, have a read of this: President of LucasArts Resigns Sounds kinda bad for things at LucasArts...

Darth Windu
DarthMaul - and i am sure there are plenty of other developers at Lucasarts with enough vision to create a SWGB2. Mr. Gaber might have been good, but he isnt irreplacable, no-one is.
Compa_Mighty
Man.. this is bad news. I mean, without talking about the game, I feel bad because Mr. Gaber was a man that took time to come here, tell us things about the game, and was always in contact with our community. Then again, if he left for something better, O'm glad for him, and wish him well, wherever he goes, and whatever he does. I don't think the game will come out or continue in development..... at least not for the moment.
