Seemingly Detonator 45.23 graphics Corruption

I'm running:

Pentium 4 2.53 ghz

512ddr ram

256m geforce fx 5600

directx9.0b and detonator fx 45.23 drivers

I've looked all over for someone else to have this problem, which is...In the outside levels with volumetric fog(or whatever that effect is)(like hoth) there is a graphic corruption that allows certain polygons to become unaffected by the effect. so it looks as if the object in the background just sticks out of the fog also making a poly pop up look thats very ugly. It also makes npcs in the distance of the inside levels the same color as the fog used outside buildings, which also is a very ugly corruption.

Now I've tried many different setting both in game and with the card, and nothing helps. I'm guessing its the drivers because when i had the 43.whatever drivers I didnt have this problem.

I'm not really looking for a solution to this, but I am wondering if anyone else is having this problem?

And I know ppl are gonna tell me just to use the old drivers, but i don't want to revert because these gave me a huge performance boost in many other games.

I forgot to mention that this pertains to the single player mode.

you and I are almost running the exact same system but I'm not sure if I know what you mean.

I have the same driver # but if you could take a screen shot(s) of it that may help.

the only problem I have with these drivers is related to my refresh rate and monitor not getting along too well anymore..

but if you could screen shot those things, I'll do the same and compare.

Well its most definitly the drivers, I just reverted back to the 43.whatevers, and the volumetric fog is fine.

A better discription of my problem iguess would be to say that the fog wasnt covering everything in the background, so say a building way in the distance would normally be covered in fog, the bulding would stick out with no fog layer at all, but the fog would still affect the npcs.

I'd take a screen shot of the way it was before but i dont want to reinstall those drivers again since i found it was definitly them.

But the 45.23 drivers definitly make jedi academy look ugly.

The bad thing is, is that in every other game I had especially unreal 2k3 and 2, those drivers game me a significant speed boost with graphics up to 1600x1200.

Unreal2k3 and 2 were running at 70-90 fps at 1600x1200 with every setting all the way up with the 45.23 drivers. oh well.

I've been annoyed by the fog problem... I thought it just was a bug... Thanks for the info...

I'm running:

Pentium 4 2.6 GHz

1028 DDR SDRAM

GeForce FX 5200

directx9.0b and detonator fx 45.23 drivers

Win XP

I'll try the downgrade now... and hey, it isn't to much problem to downgrade and upgrade, is it? :p:jawa

Well, I'm just glad that I'm also not the only one experiencing this problem with the Detonator FX unified driver. I get the same ugly results in the JA Hoth level, with the fog. I'd like to post some screenshots so others can look at it and tell me what's up. I get no help from LucasArts Tech. Support....yet. I'm hoping a driver update comes soon.

Since i ended up in the wrong thread somwhere.. and not the technical help one, i did not see this one before i posted mine here : http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=114819

I got a screenshot as well.. That is with the 45.33 drivers (or 52.13... dont remember now.. problem is the same tho).

I did revert to 44.03 and the problem was solved, but i really want to use the newer drivers, because i have the "D3D Flicker" problem with my FX 5900u.. This is fixed in the 45.33 driver, but this driver has the fog problem.. Guess i am stuck with swapping drivers as to what i am going to play so far :(
