Scoundrel Posted October 15, 2003 Posted October 15, 2003 I spawned some (erh.. Well, 41) of my new NPCs and came crashed. I reseaved error saying someting about MAX_MODES_PER_LEVEL, and I should edit that and make it supporst more than 40 models. How to do that?
razorace Posted October 15, 2003 Posted October 15, 2003 You can't without the SDK. Sorry. BTW, do you have a lot of additional player models install? That could be causing the problem?
GothiX Posted October 15, 2003 Posted October 15, 2003 I wonder what NPC's those were, considering this pic.
Scoundrel Posted October 16, 2003 Author Posted October 16, 2003 Those were all different models. Or actually game counts them as different models. And.. What is SDK? I'm sure I have heard the word before.
razorace Posted October 16, 2003 Posted October 16, 2003 Software Development Kit. It's basically the code that does all the gameplay work.
Scoundrel Posted October 25, 2003 Author Posted October 25, 2003 Speaking true, I have no idea what are you talking about. So, if I got this right, it is impossible to fix this thing if I dont have that SDK whatever. So, can I get it somewhere? I suppose that I cant.
razorace Posted October 26, 2003 Posted October 26, 2003 You can't get the SDK yet, sorry. Your best bet for now is to remove so of the additional models that you've d/led off the internet.
Wudan Posted October 26, 2003 Posted October 26, 2003 It's a memory limitation, not a 'number of models downloaded off of the internet' limitation. They should have been able to up the limit, given JKA specs - but ... who knows?
razorace Posted October 26, 2003 Posted October 26, 2003 I thought it was a memory limitation based on the number of models you have loaded into memory. I think the player models loaded into the menu (even if they aren't being used) count against that total.
Wudan Posted October 27, 2003 Posted October 27, 2003 OOh good point ... they might - I don't think they do, because as soon as you pick a new model, the last one unloads.
razorace Posted October 27, 2003 Posted October 27, 2003 I don't think it does. Most of the model loading is set up to happen at map startup to prevent game lag.
