HellFyre69
Ok, this is what happened. Tuesday (11/18) I had leave my home, and visit my gradma in canada cuz she was sick. I left my PC on, cuz my roomate wanted to hear MP3s off my Computer (lan). Cameback on Sunday night (11/23), and my PC was off! I turned it on, fans spinned for about 1 sec, and my PC was off. Tried to do this again, and the same result. On for 1 sec, then OFF. Roomate said that my puter was off since Friday, meaning something happened on tues - friday. Im guessing my power supply is f'ed up... But I don't want to go out and buy one, cuz i have finals comming up. Plus I need to get this fixed before the end of this week , cuz i have an essay to write. Help! thx. My pc specs P4 1.8 O'ced at 2.03 Geforce 4 Ti 4200 512 DDR ram 400 watts power supply. Wudan
1. Stop the overclocking to see if that helps. 2. With the power off, take the power cable out of the back of the tower. Then hold down the power button for about 30 seconds, reconnect the power and turn it on. 3. Make sure all fans are running, replace broken fans. The X
Maybe your roommate sabotaged the computer, so you couldn't write your essay, meaning you'll fail your finals! Only joking!
Andy867
it sounds like since you have it overclocked, that you are not properly dispersing the additional heat that the CPU is generating. First, try what Wudan suggested and kick down the CPU mulitiplier and see if that resolves the issue. It could also mean that because you overclocked it and it is only staying on for a second, you could have possibly burned the processor, especially if there wasnt sufficient air cooling.
