Sotaria
First, let me say that I was EXTREMELY pleased the game overall. I have not been a big fan of RPGs in recent years and KOTOR was not on the top of gameplay list, but I like LucasArts and Star Wars so I bought it and loved the game itself. I thought it was the best RPG I have played. On the negative side, LucasArts does not seem to have the best programers anymore, as it once did. I have encountered many bugs and glitches. I have a 2 ghz computer with 512 mb memory and an Nvidia GeForce 5200, but whenever I have played for some time, especially in brightly lit areas, the game gets extremely choppy. If I entirely quit the game and restart, it seems to work better, but it is still somewhat sluggish at times. I have also encountered occasional game crashes, one of which occurs if your try to quick load immediately after getting killed. What is the problem? LucasArts used to be the absolute best as avoiding bugs and getting a smoothly running game, but lately, they seem buggy. Is there any idea when they will be putting out a patch and what it will fix? Sotaria
Come on ... surely I am not the only one encountering all these bugs? Has anyone else been encountering bugs? What kind of bugs? Are there any fixes for these yet?
idontlikegeorge
Only problems I've had is a crash in Taris Lower City, on that long path where speeders fly by... has happened twice; both times required pushing the reset button. "LucasArts does not seem to have the best programers anymore, as it once did." Well, LucasArts doesn't make games anymore... they contract the creation of games to other developers - BioWare for KotOR, Raven for JO/JA, etc. They are basically just a bunch of suits, now. Prime
Here Prime comes to save the day! Likely your problem has to do with having an Intel i845 or i850 chipset with 100mhz front side bus. This is a known issue, and a beta patch has been released by Bioware. A full patch will be released later, but this should work for the time being. Try it out, and hopefully it will fix your problem. It worked for me.
heeb
I am pretty sure that his FSB wouldn't be 100mhz if his CPU is 2ghz. Am I right?
Prime
Well, I have a 1.7 GHz and the patch fixed things for me. Only one way to find out

Blitzer
That Geforce 5200 is not helping matters either. It is an extremely underpowered graphics card, slower than the 4200 it replaced.
Sotaria
The patch does not help and the GeForce 5200 has not been a problem on any of my other games ... lowering the resolution and taking out all the special effects doesn't help either. Speedy_Lube
I am having a problem getting the game to start. I run it, the splash screen with the ebon hawk is there, it disappears, and that's it. Nothing else happens. Any ideas?
Speedy_Lube
Okay I fixed my above probelm. Been playing the game, it's great btw. I am having many problems with the sound doing a lot of skipping and repeating, and its running REAL slow, on all the lowest settings. Anything I can do besides get a new comp?
