eidospsogos
okay, this is an attempt at a light-side playthrough. but it has become very annoying to try to do so, as you must pass up very valuable items sometimes to get those damned light-side points. so i'm through the sand people enclave, without slaughtering them all to avoid darkside points. though the lack of xp and the ability to go through their stuff really bothers me. | so, does anyone know, if after you have completed the quest, you can go back in and go through their stuff(and therefore have to fight them) without attaining the darkside points you would've gotten for slaughtering them all in the first place? i would think not, but wondering.....as i hate having areas left unexplored. (and if anyone thinks it's worth their krayt dragon pearl to have the history of the sand people told to them by the story teller, i would personally recommend saving the game beforehand just so you can hear the story and then reload the game where you still have the pearl. the story alone gains no xp or anything else other than a brief amount of unknown star wars history and i don't think it's worth such a valuable item myself)
Sotaria
I played the light side and killed all the sandpeople. You have to "try" to make peace with them, but when you demand that they completely stop their attacks they will refuse (saying they will only reduce their attacks). Then if you say no deal, they will attack you. You will not get any extra light side points, but you won't get any dark side points either. I am curious, if you do the quest, can you rescue the Jawas and the employee from the sandpeople, or do they not get freed?
eidospsogos
from the light side perspective, you simply accept the reduced attacks, then ask about captives and they will allow the jawas and griff to go free.
El Henko
how do i get into the enclave with the translating dorid without getting killed or having to kill to many of the sand people. I have sand people clothes and gaffi sticks but they just keep atacking me???
Samus
After completing the quest, you may kill everyone if you want. You won't get any dark side points for doing it. (At least I didn't.) I said something the storyteller looked upon as blasphemy, so they attacked. I just killed everyone in there and looted the place. I also got the krayt dragon pearl back by looting the chieftain's corpse. After that, it happens that I get ambushed by sand people in the desert (that didn't happen in the short period when we were friends), but that just means more gaffi sticks to sell, so all for the better. Are you sure you're not just in first area outside Anchorhead? There are some sand people guarding the passage South, and you can't get by them without killing them, I think. If you are actually entering the enclave, there is a sand people fella in there who recognizes you. Just tell him that you are friends or something like that, and he will take you to the chieftain. (You must of course have HK-47 with you.)
eidospsogos
yes, put the sand people clothing on yourself and any non-droid party members before entering the sand-people territory.(i always equipped the gaffi sticks as well myself) do not kill any of the sand-people before entring the enclave. they will not attack you as long as you do not talk to them. once you enter the enclave one will recognize you. then hk-47 will interupt and tell you that he actually communicated something. tell him to tell the sandperson that you apologize for being here and you want peace. that should do it. if you truly want peace be sure nto to open any of the baskets in the enclave as they will attack you if you do. but if you have returned with the moisture vaporators, and have attempted peace before then, you can do so without gaining ds points. just be prepared to have to fight every sandperson inside and outside the enclave.l
-NGE-
you can just equip sand people robes and stumble into the enclave without even having HK in your party... you can then kill everyone and receive no dark side points at all. Then you can take all the gaffi sticks from the camp + the chieftain's one, you can rescue griff and the jawa's for additional lightside points and then on your way back to anchorhead kill every tusken you encounter and voila... lots of gaffi sticks and [/watto voice]lots of money![/watto] and you'll even come out as a better person when it's all done
idontlikegeorge
Playing light side, this is what I did with the Sand People tribe: Well, I bought HK, talked to them, got them their vaporators, was polite to the chief, and he gave me the map for the east Dune sea. Then went and killed the dragon blah blah... and, with the dragon pearl, returned to the chief, and asked about Sand People history. I lose the pearl, and can see the Storyteller. I go learn their chronicles (very interesting), and then, finally, after I learn everything he needs to tell me, I ask him a certain question (hehe, good ol HK will mention "it could strain his belief system to it's pitiful meatbag maximum"), which will result in the Storyteller accusing me of blasphemy, punishable by death. So, the tribe attacks me. Pretty hard fight at first, the Storyteller and the Chief together with their warriors make for quite a fight (I haven't been able to do it without having atleast one party member fall). So I get to clear out the camp, and collect all the items there - and get the dragon pearl back for my sabers. And since they attacked me, I get no dark side points. Oh yeah, and the Storyteller has a unique gaffi stick. I've found this way to give me the maximum XP, by basically completing all the quest paths involving the Sand People Enclave, and also having the opportunity to kill them all, get all the items, and not get any dark side points. SpaceButler14
Objection: I put on sand-people clothes with HK in my party and upon opening door am attacked. All sand-people attack on sight. Query: Has this happened to anyone else?
eidospsogos
this happened to me once. but only because i attacked one or more sandpeople wandering outside the enclave before entering. not in the dune sea mid you, in the sand people territory directly outside the enclave. you cannot kill anyone once entering the sandpeople territory, or have the wookie in your party. Syzerian
i finished the game without HK-47 cuz i didnt know how to get him the game wouldnt let me buy him for some strange reason:( i asked everyone in the shop and anchorhead but still no luck
eidospsogos
you have to enter the czerka at the right moment i think and then when you leave a guy that starts telling you about a peaceful solution with the sand people will mention that perhaps there's a droid that can translate their language, and that he thought there was one in anchorhead. the droid shop itself is right by the gates you leave through to hunt.
