Helix
What ship what win this fight? 1 Y-wing Vs. 8 capital ships, including 2 Blockade Runners(Correlion Corvettes), a Victory Star Destroy and a Imperial Star Destroyer both loaded with a unlimeted amount of conccusion missiles? Guest The Master
The Y-Wing of coarse! Just think. It is flying through a big cloud of these big ships that are spraying lazer and torps at the Y-Wing. They are going to end up doing alot more damage to themselves then the Y-Wing. That was an easy one, silly. Guest Kint
Pardon me for interrupting, but I do believe than an Ewok Glider armed with a payload of rocks could do far more damage than a Y-Wing. The superior design and incredible maneuverability of this craft will prevail over any rebel-engineered hunk-o-junk. Just my 2c. ------------------ Moff Kint I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

Guest Tie Guy
Wow, you've been reading the books. That manuver is known as teh Ackbar Slash, but it doesn't destroy many enemy ships, it is meant to damage them enough for you to make a getaway, not to win the battle. Plus, it isn't meant fort the piece of junk y-wings to do. You need something more manuverable or more heavily armored to pull it off. ------------------ "We will crush the Rebellion in one swift stroke." Guest Rogue9
A-Wing Slash is different, it involes a Squadron of A-Wings Cruising in at a Target, then as the target scrambles fighters to confront the A-Wings they breakaway allowing the Heavy fighter hidden in there engine wash to fire on the Cap ship from close range unmolested. I don't just read the books, I memorize them. it has been used by them empire utilizing Preybirds instead of A-Wings and Concussion Missles instead of X-Wings. the Cap ship prepares for a light barage from the fighters and is then slammed by many times there number of missles. Helix
Jesus Christ you guys! Have you ever played X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter? In the Custom dogfight, if you select to do the challenge, first you fight 2 Corellian Corvettes. Then approx. 4 more capital ships will come at 1 at a time, and after you defeat them, a Victory class star destroyer will come, and after you defeat it, a Imperial Star Destroyer will come. If you don't get this, then your dead.

Lynk Former
Hmmmmmm I think u guys are missing the big picture... 1 Y-Wing.... against what 8 capital ships... at least 2 that can carry starfighter support... lets see *takes out his Star Wars: The Essential Guide to Vehicles and Vessels book* .... *reading*... AHAA!! A standard Imperial class Star Destroyer can carry a total of four squadrons of starfighters... so that is... seventy two TIE Fighters, Interceptors, Bombers, Advanced, Defenders, and whatever else you wanna throw in there... Hmmmmmm *reads some more* The Victory can hold a total of 24 TIE's... Hmmmmm so you better make that 8 Capital ships AND 96 fighters... againts... 1... Y-Wing... Hmmmmmm, I'm placing my bets on the 8 Capital ships... btw... Rogue9... you've read Spectre of the Past too hey... Grand_Admiral_Ice
Four squadrons is 48 fighters. A wing (Six squadrons) has 72 fighters. ------------------ For the empire! MY empire.
Lynk Former
A squad is 12... a flight is 4... oh wait... did I say 4?... oops no no no I typed in the wrong thing. It's 6 squads... Hmmmm
Grand_Admiral_Ice
Yea sure Lynk. ------------------ For the empire! MY empire.
Guest Tie Guy
A squadron is twelve. A Imperial Star Destroyer holds 6 squdrons. The newer ones hold 3 TIE/ln squads, 2 Intercepter squads, and one bomber squad. However, they also include support ships, namely skipray blastboats and Assault Gunboats, so that ups count, i'd bet on Capitol ships, especially verses a y-wing, that has no chance of escape. Oh yeah, the A-wing slash has the X-wings first, since the A-wings are smaller and can hide behind the larger ships. Just thought i'd clear that up. The Spectre to the Past is a great series for anyone looking for a a good read. And Vision of the Future is suprisingly long when you see the thickness and then find out it is over 700 pages long. ------------------ "We will crush the Rebellion in one swift stroke." Lynk Former
Let's just get this over with and agree with one obvious fact... the Y-Wing would be blown into a million pieces before it would even have a chance to fire... ------------------

Helix
Your not going to belive this, but I beat 8 capitol ships in X-wing vs. Tie Fighter. All you do is keep your ship about 5.00 Kl. away and arm it with heavy rockets and have a reloading craft standing by. And none of the ships send out any starfighters, all they do is shoot missiles at you that hardly ever hit.
Lynk Former
Yeah but that's a game... I know this may sound stupid... but here goes. In 'real life' ... yeah real life... IF all of that existed then the Y-Wing would lose!! Why? Because a simple game like that can't predict what a real commander would do in that situation! I know what I'd do... sending out a flight of TIE Interceptors would take that Y-Wing out real easy. Those squints would fly circles around that bucket of bolts! Helix
Oh. What would win this time;150 Y-wings loaded with 4 space bombs each with 90 T-65XJ X-Wings for support vs. 2 Corellian Corvettes, 1 Strike Cruiser, 1 Nebulon-B Frigate, 1 Escort Carrier, 1 Dreadnaught, 1 Interdicter Im-418, 1 Victory Star Destroyer and 1 Imperial Star Destroyer, all come at one at a time, except for the Corvettes, which come both at a time? Guest Redwing
The X's and Y's. Yes, I agree with Lynk on this one as well. Any commander with a brain wouldn't just stand there and let a flying box pound him into oblivion. ------------------ At last we will reveal ourselves to the Jedi. At last we will have revenge.
