Guest rebel alliance
fun to fly great handiling, fast, nible crappy blasters and torps and very bad sheild but still good
Guest Redwing
Excellent handling, poor blasters, poor shields, poor torps, excellent maneuverabilty, excellent speed. Can outrun anything in RS except for a V-wing on scram jets. Top speed is the only top speed faster than missles. Two link settings for blasters, which auto aim (blasters can swivel sixty degrees up/down) Good for any mission except when shields AND strong ammo are required. Small size gives the added advantage of a harder target to hit. ------------------ At last we will reveal ourselves to the Jedi. At last we will have revenge. Guest Rogue9
Excellent Handling and Speed, but inability to absorbe damage makes it a poor choice for dogfighting, our other arena's where combat may be protracted and without fighter support, the A-Wing is after all an Interceptor not a true fighter
Guest Redwing
A good pilot makes this an excellent choice for dogfighting, and its speed literally is faster than anything the Imperials can throw at it. And by your analogy, Nine, fighters do not exist in the galaxy, as not even the multipurpose X-wing can fufill every role And TIEs are made for dogfighting, and they have no shields whatsoever. ------------------ At last we will reveal ourselves to the Jedi. Guest Rogue9
heres a quote to explain TIE Combat. "Standard Imperial Swarm Manuever" , TIE Don't need shields because the Imperial have more money to train new pilots and build new craft, Imperial strategy is to overwhelm another starfighter with target. Guest trainee
I never knew there is a auto aim function in tha A-wing. Do you just press the weapon link to activate it?
Guest rebel alliance
it's always on. they just swivel up and down it can counter react if you are doing extreme pull outs or dives
Helix
For a very strange reason, I entered the code "chippie" and the A-Wing had Advanced Missiles! Not Advanced Seeker Missiles, but actual Advanced Missiles! The Secondary Weapon remaining circle was light brown, just like Advanced Torps! Guest Redwing
Oh? Cool! I'll have to try that. BTW about the A-Wing's blasters, the one really BAD thing about the XWA version was the total LACK of any such capability... ------------------ At last we will reveal ourselves to the Jedi. Lynk Former
The original A-Wing had fixed laser cannons while the A-Wing mark II had rotating laser cannons. That's why in RS it seems like the A-Wing has an auto aim feature... ------------------

Guest Tie Guy
The A-wing only swivels if you have the advanced blasters powerup i think. Maybe it's just me. Anyways, i thought that in one of the X-wing series novels it said that the A-wing's blasters could cover their rear, not just 60 degrees. Am i right? ------------------ "We will crush the Rebellion in one swift stroke."
Guest Rogue9
the Incom model had that, it was supposed to replace the X-Wings in Rogue Squadron...but Suprise it didn't. [This message has been edited by Rogue9 (edited July 08, 2001).]
Lynk Former
The A-Wing replacing the X-Wing?... wait a minute don't you mean the E-Wing was gonna replace the X-Wing?
Guest Tie Guy
REad the X-wing Series and it will all make sense. Plus, I really liked them. ------------------ "We will crush the Rebellion in one swift stroke."
Lynk Former
Yeah I've read em all... but after that at one stage when the E-Wing was released it was said that it was gonna replace to X-Wing. But because the E-Wing wasn't as reliable as the famous T-65, it wasn't... or something like that...
Guest Redwing
No, R9, they didn't intend for the Incom A-Wings to replace the Rogues' X-Wings...your hatred is clouding your judgement ------------------ At last we will reveal ourselves to the Jedi. Guest Tie Guy
They did in Rogue Squadron. That's how the Rogues were able to get their X-wings back when they left the Republic. They gave all the new Rogues the new A-wings, and the old Rogues were able to pick their old ones up for dirt cheap. ------------------ "We will crush the Rebellion in one swift stroke." Guest Redwing
Ummmmm no, the replacement squadron wasn't really Rogue squadron without the Rogues... ------------------ At last we will reveal ourselves to the Jedi.
