alexx860 Posted January 18, 2004 Posted January 18, 2004 hi all, i have yavin's tree in my map, but they are not solid:confused: how can i fix it ?? thx in advance alexx860
alexx860 Posted January 18, 2004 Author Posted January 18, 2004 i have my answer : cover the model with a brush. the brush must have the system/clip texture ^^
WadeV1589 Posted January 19, 2004 Posted January 19, 2004 physics_clip would be better for the main part of the tree (just not the leaves) as it would also block weapons fire.
alexx860 Posted January 20, 2004 Author Posted January 20, 2004 there is anither way to "clip my tree ? because make a brush with the shape of the tree... its difficult lol thx alexx860
WadeV1589 Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 There are other ways.....but this is the best way. It is far more bsp efficient than the other methods.
gotcha8903 Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 the unmentioned other ways are bsp inefficeint? really?
Emon Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 You can have Q3Map2 do it for you. It creates a clip brush for every surface, which is inefficient, but a lot easier, and more uniform and accurate on complex models, despite the nature of one surface = one brush. We're still waiting for ydnar to write some better code for that...
gotcha8903 Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 hit "n" while the modl is selected. add the key:spawnflags, and the value: 2, then hit enter. the modle should then be solid in-game
Torchy Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 that would just make the branches and leaves solid aswell which wouldnt look too good if u shot a rocket at it. its better just to make a 6 sided cylinder around the trunk, it doesnt have to be accurate
alexx860 Posted January 21, 2004 Author Posted January 21, 2004 no, just the trunk is solid, not the leaves !! thanx you very much gotcha alexx860
