OddBall
Ok, I've installed Monkey Island with my original floppies that came in the "Classic Adventures" bundle a long long time ago. Installed ScummVM, I selected Monkey Island 1 (256 color floppy version), and I click start. As the game is launching it brings up a screen that says "WAIT! When was this pirate hanged in wherever?" I don't know how to answer the question correctly, I never had to pass any anti copy screen before when it was installed on my 486. The classic adventures book has nothing in it for MI anti-copy, just for Maniac and Zac Mac. I type in a random number and it lets me in the game anyways. This leads to my next problem, and I'm not sure if it's related. I can get into the game ok, and I get the MIDI music, just like I always used to. However I don't get any sound effects, such as openig doors or being fired out of the Fetti Bros. cannon. Anyone know what is going on? How I can fix this? My sound card is onboard VIA AC '97. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks guys.
OddBall
Never mind guys, I just downloaded the latest CVS snapshot build and the game runs with sound effects now. Apparently the code sequence at the beginning has no affect on whether or not I can play the game.
Udvarnoky
Yeah, the Classic Adventures pack skips the copy-protections for Indy3, Loom, and Monkey1. SCUMMVM "unlocks them," so to speak, but typing in random numbers gets you passed it.
