you need to enable the screenshots on the game, go to the installation folder of KOTOR, then open swkotor.ini on notepad (i suggest to keep a back up just in case), look for the following:

[Game Options]

GUIsInScreenShot=1

EnableScreenShot=0

replace the 0 and put a 1, that will enable them, save the file and open the game, you need to press print screen button to take them, then open MS Paint and paste the image, save it and you are done.

The above post is semi-correct.

First off, you probably don't even have a line in your ini file that says "GUIsInScreenShot=1" Normally, you need to add this manually. A 1 means you want the GUI to show up (portraits, game information, etc etc that may be on screen at the time) and a 0 means you do not.

The other line is simply a 0 or 1 meaning screen shot capability on or off. If you set it to 0, you can still do what was posted above. That being press print screen, then exit the game, open a paint program (like MS paint or Photoshop) and paste the image in as a new image.

However, if you have them enabled (1 on that line), each time you press print screen you'll automatically create a new .TGA file in your SwKotOR root folder. The naming is a bit odd, but they'll be something like KotORxxxx.tga where the X's are some combination of numbers and letters that the game will determine automatically (mainly so it doesn't overwrite previous shots it finds in the folder).

Anyways.. after that, you can just open the tga in photoshop or paintshop or whatever you like that's able to work with TGA files and do whatever you want with it. If you plan to post them on the web, I'd reccomend color reduction, crop the image down to only include the parts that matter, and then saving in JPG format - which makes the files much smaller than TGAs. Makes our low bandwidth bretheren a lot happier. ;)

I think you can have that alot more easy.:cool:

I use FRAPS to make screenshots.Its a small programm which shows your framerate during games. Simply set the screen capture button to whatever you like. Every time you press the button a screenshot will be saved in the Fraps folder as a BMP file. I use Fraps 1.9C . I heard that 2.0 is not freeware anymore:rolleyes:

(money stinks ;) )

Try searching 1.9C on google maybe you'll find it:D

I wouldn't rely on accurate FPS counts from FRAPS. I have in my own expierience noticed different frames with the exact same enviroment. although I have used fraps and the version I have is 2.0.0 build 1787 I DL'd it free and have never been asked to pay I think there are more options if you do register it though.

The program I use to take Screenshots is IrfanView 3.85. It's free and it has some decent photo editing for a free program. to take screens with this one just load the app hit c then click start on the window that pops up, then hit Ctrl+F11. Much more convienent as you can specify where you want the file to go and it will save as jpg. not as good quality as tga, but better for uploading.
