dufflover
I'm new to all this so as expected, I will probably seem to be asking some obvious questions. As a starting newbie project, I want make Bastila's default clothes have properties of a jedi robe, now I don't mind if it needs to be copied and created as a new item/robe. I just think she looks better and more of a jedi in her default clothes, and seeing how they're Jedi design anyway...
T7nowhere
This can be done. The best way to start is to extract a uti From an exsisting jedi robe So useing KT(Kotor Tool) and have a gff editor installed in the same folder. Ok first I wrote a item creationTutorial so I won't go over that again Here is a list of files you will need to collect g_a_jedirobe01.uti (item uti you can use any jedi robe) ia_jedirobe_001.tga menu icon 1.open g_a_jedirobe01.uti in the gff editor the fields you will need to change are: BaseItem[iNT]=35 change to 85 (which is basic clothing) TextureVar[bYTE]=1 (change this to any number over 10) Tag[CExoString]=g_a_jedirobe01 ( change to unique name) TemplateResRef[CResRef]=g_a_jedirobe01 ( change to tag name) now click file menu and save.now highlite and copy the name for the TemplateResRef[CResRef]= and close the file. now rename the uti to that of the TemplateResRef[CResRef] (with the uti extension)now your done with the uti. 2.rename ia_jedirobe_001.tga to ia_cloths_0xx.tga the xx's being the value that you changed the TextureVar to now your done.(when you hit the write button in KT image veiwer it will save as tga) to get the item in-game use the giveitem cheat I uploaded a file that you can use as a sample or a robe your choice NPC ROBES as an added benefit doing it this way will allow all your party members to wear there default clothes with a defense bonus The last thing you can do is add new properties to your robe, this is the fun partCheck out this thread
dufflover
Wow! Thanks for the help! Now that's what I call a tutorial. Perhaps you could PM me links to other tutorials/examples for other things mod-able in KotOR!
T7nowhere
A thought just occurred to me that if you rename the file to g_a_clothes01.uti when you start a new game or when you get new sets of clothes this will replace the default clothing. I just though I would mention it sinse if you wanted to keep all your NPC's in clothes this way they would still get a defense bonus. oh and I think you could pretty much do the same thing for any armor in-game. So if a paticular armor has stats you like it would save time to just do what I said in my first post and rename the file to g_a_clothes01.uti . heh! man this is cheap. dheer
I have a request. Is there any way to make Bastilla's or any other character's default clothing into a useable armor for your Revan character?
Hax0redCardz
Hey T7, would that method work for... say... changing the SF Robes appearance to that of a normal Jedi Robe?

One strange thing is it seems the BodyVariation is not checked. I guess the game looks for the baseitem first then texture and ignores the BodyVariation. Obex
If someone has managed to make jedi robes based on Bastila's clothes, then I'd be interested in a copy of them. I've lamented the fact that the cool outfit gets about 1 hour of game time, then she has to wear dirty used jedi robes like the rest of us. I had the idea to do it (I posted this thread), but even after getting all the tools and stuff I just haven't got around to doing it cos Uni was starting for me. The point here: don't wait for me to do it (if you were waiting for me to).

HeDanny
Is my game a bit wack, or does bastilla actually have two sets of normal clothes? I cant be the only person who noticed that?? Please tell me I am not! haha.. The swoop races on Taris. She is NOT wearing the same clothes that she wears as her 'normal' clothes for the rest of the game. I would very much like to see those clothes from the swoop races extracted.. and wearable by my other Female chars. Girls do swap clothes, you now. Also.. Canderous would look pretty in them too :D
