spunkyboy01 Posted March 5, 2004 Posted March 5, 2004 i just installed and am playing the orginal x-wing game, wile the book says that pressing q or pressing q then hiting the spacebar will quit the game, for some resone it won`t work!,anyideas as to why?,thanks for any help
Keyan Farlander Posted March 5, 2004 Posted March 5, 2004 That doesn't work in the original X-Wing. It works in TIE Fighter and the games after TIE Fighter, but not X-Wing.
spunkyboy01 Posted March 6, 2004 Author Posted March 6, 2004 personally i don`t think x-wing is as good as tie-fighter or xwa,but it is better that x-wing vs tiefighter...a game i`m sorry that i even bought!
Keyan Farlander Posted March 6, 2004 Posted March 6, 2004 TIE Figher technically improved on X-Wing, but I perfer X-Wing because...I just like being a good guy, I guess! Â And actually, TIE Fighter got rather insane by the end of the game - taking out whole fleets with your missile boat, and all. Â X-Wing Alliance had the potential of greatness, but it was rushed. Â X-Wing vs. TIE Figher...sucked.
Wildstar Posted March 7, 2004 Posted March 7, 2004 Are you talking about the original DOS X-Wing? If so, I think if you hit the ESC key, you get a configuration dialog that also includes an option to quit the game.
spunkyboy01 Posted March 9, 2004 Author Posted March 9, 2004 i`v got the x-wing cd,try as i might i just don`t like this game.i did like tiefighter, but i agree towards the end it did get a bit much,x-wing alliance was better but could have been much better...i wasn`t impressed with the final space battels and i was disapointed that there wasn`t anything to do with tracking uncule anton down.as for x-wing vs tie fighter....god that was lame...the timed missions was the one that really ticked me off, plus the fact that everytime you targeted a large ship it fiered a missel at you
gmarti01 Posted March 10, 2004 Posted March 10, 2004 They dont play as much XvT in the TieCorps as I would like.......too much XWA, but I guess you cant get everything you want. Â Why are there 3 versions of Tie Fighter?
Wildstar Posted March 11, 2004 Posted March 11, 2004 Originally posted by gmarti01 Why are there 3 versions of Tie Fighter? Â There were...the original TIE Fighter, which ran in a DOS environment and installed from floppy disks, TIE CD (still the DOS game, but included the "Defender of the Empire" expansion), and TIE 95, which was part of the X-Wing Collectors' Series (along with X-Wing 95 and X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter: Flight School) and used the XvT graphics engine. The last one is also packaged in the X-Wing Trilogy, which also includes X-Wing 95 and XWA.
