Nitro Posted April 1, 2004 Posted April 1, 2004 http://www.angelfire.com/extreme4/kiddofspeed/ Click on where it says "beginning". Some amazing pictures, and good commentary, on the area around the Chernobyl plant.
Flying Beastie Posted April 1, 2004 Posted April 1, 2004 Eerie-ass, ain't it? (Nitro, d'you lurk on rec.arts.sf.composition on Usenet? I just found this link there this morning [literally, about a half-hour ago] and was about to post it here.)
Nitro Posted April 1, 2004 Author Posted April 1, 2004 Nope. I was looking for pictures of Chernobyl now, and found that.
Nute Gunray Posted April 2, 2004 Posted April 2, 2004 I've often wondered if it really IS that quiet or if teh people that go there are just too used to sound. I've been in place way out in teh country where there's nothing to hear. Not even birds and insects. Just the wind and, if you concentrate enough, your heart.
Jabba The Hunt Posted April 4, 2004 Posted April 4, 2004 hmm all those pages have brought a strange quiet over me. I think a lot more respect should be paid to those people who gave their lives to clear up the region as best as they could.
