Problems... with JA MP, "awaiting response"

I and a friend are trying to play on the same multiplayer server with two computers.

Both connecting to the internet throught the same router. The firts cpu connecting works just fine, but the other is just waiting for response, never joining.

Can someone help me?

ummmm what i would guess is happening is that the first computer is connecting to the outside world past your router...and the second computer is trying to do the same thing

but you can't have the same ip connect to a server, so it looks for a different ip to connect to, but since only one is coming into the router.....then i can't think of any way to make it work

Actually, that's not correct. Both of you can use the same IP address, but you must each use a different port.

The default port for Jedi Academy is 29070, and you are both trying to use it. The first computer to connect takes it, making it unavailable to the second computer. However, you can use ports 29070-29075 (at least, LucasArts says to open up ports 29070-29081 on your router, so I guess all of those could be used. I have only used 29070-29075) to play Jedi Academy.

Make a shortcut to the jamp.exe program and put it on your desktop. Right-click the shortcut and select Properties. On the Shortcut tab there is a Target box that lists the full path to the jamp.exe program. After the last quotation mark, add a space and then:

+set net_port 29071

then click OK. Your friend can do the same thing but he should obviously set a different port (like 29072).

Then you can both play using the same IP address but at least one of you must use the shortcut you created to start the game if you are both going to play through the same router at the same time. If you both came to one of my servers and you were using IP address 12.34.56.789, if I sent a /rcon status command to my server it would reply:
