Browser problems

A friend of mine is having problems with his browser, and I just told him that I could ask for help here for him...

 

so, here's the deal;

When I try to open up the internet explorer, nothing happens.... no internet explorer.. just the desktop

When I try to open my computer browser to look in folders like "my documents" and stuff, the desktop dissapears for a couple o sec's and there still is no browser

Can anyone help? please?

That's happened to me before... I'm not quit sure was I did, I just did a spyware and virus check, got rid of 'em all, and I was fine.

 

I hate it when I have so much spyware my browser won't run.

my IE was getting white page not founds a while back, a friend told me to go get something called spybot search and destroy at i believe http://www.safer-networking.org it is free and it cleared the trouble up seemed like i had many spybots in my HD, anyway hope this helps.

 

also have your friend (or any of you( also have netscape naviagtor) as a backup browser in case \your IE one goes wonky

Well, his browser (including My Computer) just won't open at all... Spybot didn't work...
