Radio vs TV

I'll put my cards on the table - I love radio and can take or leave TV. I think it's because I have a low boredom threshold and I can't sit there for hours with my brain disengaged watching TV.

With radio you can do other things - move around or relax with your eyes closed and still not miss a thing. Brilliant or am I just a bit sad? (maybe a lot sad)

What's your preference and why?? And if you like radio like me what's your prefered listening?

well, i personally like both radio and t.v.... hmm, hard decision. i'd have to say radio, though. tv is still great, but i like listening to the radio better because:

1. you can listen to music as you fall asleep, it makes it a whole lot easier.

2. you can do other things as well.

3. if there's no noise, you can turn it on and it'd be kind of like a background music to what you're doing.

4. music helps you think better.

5. i just like music.

and on the radio, i'll listen to pretty much anything except for country or classical music.

Depends. I cannot work on anything without background sound, be it music or TV. Only thing is, TV is way too distracting if i need to stay focussed so Radio's best. Even if I'm reading a book, I don't like to do it in silence, but I can't read a book and watch the TV at the same time (or even have the TV on in the background for the noise, most things on TV's hint at something visual that makes you turn around to watch it whereas Radio is purely audio and you don't expect anything visual so you won't be distracted)

But i'f I want to just switch off, I need something to watch. The radio actually will make me go to sleep if I just sit and listen with nothing else to do, but if I just want to sit back and relax without falling asleep, then the TV's perfect.

I would say radio, but there's barely any variety left in radio. Thus I am more entertained by television. I do love Prairie Home Companion, though. I wish there was still a lot of radio shows.

But I'm not much on TV either. Television's pattern is: reality show, sitcom, reality show, sitcom, reality show, sitcom, heavily edited music video, reality show.

I just like movies. I don't consider film to be the same as television. That's like comparing an audio book to radio, or a novel to a newspaper. I watch too many movies though.

Well, they both have crappy music playing constantly, so I guess they both suck.

therefore i always hear mp3s/oggs while programming...

or i've got a tvtime (http://tvtime.net) in the upper right corner while there's a fake court on air...

that is soo boring and senseless that it can just concentrate on my code...

(and laugh at the really bad acting...)
