pascalneder009
well im walking to the dune sea and saw him yes great one but i have a idea for you: why not delete the sounds from the twilek and only let the dialog files in it so you don't hear any sounds but can read the dialogs what do you think of it? not that i don't like the version you made its sweeet but it will be better without the twilek sounds
Darth Straker
Yes, I thought of it however i ended up leaving the sounds because the guy has got tons of sound files. Anyway, I think it's nice to hear a voice, but in the next week I could do it.
Darth333
I haven't checked the sound files for this but perhaps you could simply rename the corresponding sound folder so the link between the dlg files and the sound is cut - depending on what's in the folder it could affect other NPCs voices. Other way (and best way) of course is to remove the nmsomething references from the dlg files (entry list only - that shouldn't take too long). Darth Straker
But don't I have to remove those files from each entry? And what about the lips moving?
pascalneder009
yeah that's what i did when i tried to improve the recruitable calo version and it worked i changed the dialog.tlk file
Darth333
I don't recommend modifying the tlk table: it's not practical for download since it's over 5 MB. Here is a thread that should be of some interest to you: http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=126746 If you need help to get this working, just PM me. Darth Straker
Here's what I'll do, on the dlg. file I basically just go to his every entry and remove the sounds right?

In the Entry list, remove the VO_ResRef only. It's "NMsomething". This will also remove lipsync. You can also check this thread: http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=126683 *edit* i can't check it because i don't have the game with me but since it's a twilek speaking, the sound entry is different. If i remember correctly, it's probably called "n_twisomething" but i' m not sure. I added new entries for a Selkath in my Manaan force choke mod - perhaps you can check what i did. When it's an alien speaking, the Entry is located in the Sound field When it's a human it's the VO_ResRef
tk102
That's right. I think I put that in the DLGEdit readme once. Ah, here it is: - VO_ResRef: name of a voice-over sound file to play during this Entry. - Sound: name of a sound file to play during this Entry. Sounds are used instead of VO_ResRef for aliens and droids that just make noise.
Darth Straker
Actually , I need to remove both sound and VO files. Just tried that and worked! Just a few more minutes and it'll be done!
