heter
Hey. I recently got kotor on friday and havent stopped playing since. To bad I have already gotten almost all of the star maps and Have 1 to go. I like the game especially the jedi oriented things. But what disappoints me a bit is the light saber battles. Also I worry that when I beat the game I will get bored of it and not want to play this great game. Now for my idea of a mod. My idea would require some editing of the character models I believe. Basically it enhances the sword fighting. Let me start off by saying what disappoints me and what probably dissapoints you aswell. 1.The duels dont last very long 2.You are stuck in 1 spot and do not move. (The duels in the movies involve covering alot of distance and many flips and jumps.) 3.The npcs always use the force in the middle of it and disturb the duel making it not as fun. I belive it is more fun dueling a non jedi npc with melee weapons because they do not use the force. Also, to keep this fun, people could make new areas to fiight oponents. such as darth maul level or darth vader level. Can someone please give me feed back on my idea? I think you would all agree that atleast one of these would imrpove the game ecpierence and you would play longer. I would attempt to make these mods but I am only 14 and have never gotten to far in any mod making. So please respond.
tk102
You could try out Talchia's Hardcore Mod. It definitely makes the game more challenging, thereby extending gameplay. Also, Talchia created the Arena mod in which you can fight some very difficult opponents. It's more of a sideline activity though and doesn't incorporate into the storyline. Look at Kitty Kitty's sticky thread for the list of mods and links to Talchia's website.
heter
ok cool ty. But is it possible to change the dueling?
Mono_Giganto
Yes I've been meaning to look around for the game scripts... I was thinking about upping dexterity on both sides and also upping saber power. That way, in a duel, you would dodge almost every hit, but duels would deal in 1 hit KOs. You might also want to check T7's tutorials if you've never modded before. They're very helpful; almost everyone starts there.

shosey
to help extend gameplay I recommend playing out all the side stories. This helps tell you the KotOR story, kinda like watching a movie
heter
Mono_Giganto I think that would be a great idea. Do you have a site I can downlaod your mods or something I can keep checking out to see if you are successful with this?
Mono_Giganto
Whoa don't go so fast, I haven't even looked for the scripting yet I've had a lot of school work lately, and no I don't have a site, but if I'm successful I'll send it to uru. And why does it say you've only got 2 posts when you have 3... When uru puts it up, you might wanna check out my clothing mod by the way. Changes the look of the clothing of all character types.
