Compa_Mighty
What's up people, perhaps you have noticed I haven't posted a lot. Well, I've been having lots of problems with my PC, I erased the Sasser worm on Sunday, and on Monday I got some kind of spyware. The problem is that I've used Spysweeper and the problems are not gone. The specific problems are: 1. Once I start the computer, Media player starts and tries to play a video, which by the way I always close before watching, so I don't eally know what it is about. 2. When you open IE, there's a page that says Spyware has taken over my computer, and little dialog box that asks me: To install latest and best AT- Games update, please click Yes I press yes, and nothing happens. However, the catch is that they give me a link to download "The best spyware elimination software". I go there and there's a pretty bad site that supposedly gives me an offer to buy the software which by the way, always expires the exact day you enter the site... go figure! My guess is that same "company" if they can be called that way" planted the spyware to make me buy the software, which I won't. At least not from them. As I've stated before I've used Spysweeper with no success, is there anything I can do to get rid of these problems? Help is VERY MUCH appreciated. The link to the "best spy deleter software" is :http://www.spydeleter.com/spydeleter.php?KBID=1004 Thanks a lot.
pbguy1211
try adaware, spybot, and bazooka. then use avg from http://www.grisoft.com and go to http://www.my-etrust.com/index.cfm and dl the anti virus software. THEN... look for these programs... I can email them to you since I don't have links ATM. Hijackthis CWShredder and TrojanHunter. Hope something helps. You may need to do some deleting in the registry before all is said and done.
Darth Homer
also, if anything pops up on your computer that you didn't authorize a dl for, never agree to it. If it gets to be too bad, you may need to save off important files & then wipe the drive. Personally, I don't ever keep anything of high importance on my pc only, that way it can be wiped at any time with out loss of important info. Do as pbguy said and hopefully it'll all be fixed, good luck!
Compa_Mighty
Thanks guys! You don't know how thankful I am. I had been fighting against that for 3 days, and nothing worked, I downloaded several programs of those you told me, and I could get everything back to normal. Thanks again! pbguy1211
no prob. spyware's a bitch. the new virus trick seems to be they dont attack all your programs, but install scripts to change your homepage and cause some IE pop ups... pain in the ASS to get rid of. Then again I wouldn't have these problems if i'd stop visiting porn web pages... uh i mean... if they'd stop sending me all this crap! yeah... that's it! *hides*
Compa_Mighty
Hehehe. Even if you don't visit... sorry if they don't send you that stuff you could get it. Anyway, one last thing, in the process of erasing all the infected files I erased by mistake a "bridge.dll" file. Doesn't seem like it's been much of a problem, but each time I start the PC it tells me the file was not found. Is there a way I can get that file I erased? Thanks in advance. pbguy1211
i dont know what it is or where it's located... or even if what it contains only concerns your computer. do a search. you could also do a system restore, but that probably wouldnt do too much good in your case. Darth Homer
you can probably get the resolved by downloading a registry fixer...though I don't know where to get a good one...
