GhostofAnakin
I tried to do a search for this topic, but nothing similar came up in the search results. I'm new to the site, so I apologize if this has been answered before (or if you could help me find the thread), but here's a couple of questions I have about downloading and using these user created mods: 1-After downloading the mod (for arguement's sake, lets say one of the Revan robes), how do I install it so that it's accessable in my inventory? 2-After doing #1, will that mean that every time I play, it'll be there? Will I have to delete or restore some file to remove the new robe? I've never used these mods before, so I have no clue how they work. Any help would be appreciated. Doom_Dealer
it depends. first almost all mods get placed into your override folder in your kotor directory so place all the files (-readme) in the .zip and .rar file into c://programfiles/lucasarts/kotor/overide things like the revans robes, my mandolorian armour, svoshes robes are reskins. This meens they dont appear as new items but change the appearence of another. Therefore, in the case of the reven robes it simply changes how revan looks. To wear these robes you put on something called a disguise which would make you appear like another character, i.e revan, yoda malak. and due to the reskin you will look like the mod. you can get one file with most disguises in from the top of the page. its called HOLOWAN CLOAKWORKS some are actually new items however and to get these you open the console and type giveitem x_x_xxxxx filling the x's with the correct code, the name of the uti file if this isnt clear read the readme!!!!! -edit- 2. yes it will always be there unless you delete the files you put in your overide folder, theres no major uninstallation proccess just click and delete. Darth333
Reference this thread: http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=128009 Not evertyhing always goes in the override folder: .mod files have to be dropped into the modules folder and sound files in the appropriate sound folder, normally a subfolder in streamwaves. Noramally there should be a Readme with the mod. This is where you should start.
