Richdiesels are still the industry standard.

Clicky

Only download Pakscape and maybe the JKAMP SDK. Not the JKII SDK. Everything else is the exact sane. Except for the water tut, use caulk water instead of caulk nonsolid.

Been working 2 months on a map, and i have trouble constantly. Thing with mapping is: you solve a problem, and a new one comes up almost instantly.

Yes, mappers have a hard life, but they are revered in the community. (nah just kidding) :D But seriously, its hard to get free of problems, whether you're new, amateur, or expert.

And you are lucky if you only have one problem at a time...

For more tutorials and such, go to old Leslie Judge's site, and check the links. There's a good collection of them:

Lately I have had like 5 or more problems at a time, I solve one, and it's back to 5 again :D

It gets annoying, but a mappers gotta do what a mappers gotta do, whether it screws up your computer or not.... :deathstar

Would you rather they lie? :)

"Oh ya its easy pickins, grab a wall place it, grab a house with interior already desinged and place it. Look npc's are as easy as throwing stones in a pond."

Shabam, a architectural remake of the taj-ma hall. ;)

Best to be told in advance of the trials ahead. Plus, if you wanna produce a good map, it takes time. I did one map to learn a load of stuff and now I'm working on one properly. (a month or so in).

I hope Leslie Judge didn't hear him being described as "old" as well... lol.

Her? Well, to speak the truth, LJ is not so old, if you compare him to, say, some US west coast redwoods :) He's a cool guy (albeit deadly with chopsticks), and I'm sure he will grant me a quick death for that mistake, instead of the traditional lingering one...
