Most of my previous post was for the benefit of Boran who was comparing BF1942 and SWBF before it even hit retail. My position is that until it goes retail those kind of comparisons are speculation, and even the best speculators can't predict the significance a game will have in the gaming community. As an example I cited Half-life and the speculation that surrounded that game during development. Hmmm weird...I feel that Wolfenstein lacks more realism then BF1942. However, in BF1942's defense, it's pretty hard to have a good solid WWII experience when the game is mostly for MP. Sacrifices are made for balance and gameplay. Such factors can indeed kill realism. Though I'll have to agree that it ain't the best WWII experience. Hmmm...EA doesn't seem to verify very well. Last time I saw 10 000 BF1942 players online. But oh well... Haven't played CS in a long time...is there still as many hacks and cheats? Steam has resolved a lot of hacking issues, but hacking still exists. The basic Steam client auto updates with patches and autodetects most hacks each time a player connects to a valid server. Steam is far from ideal, but it is definitely better security then the WON network provided. EDIT: grammar Idei
tFighterPilot
Agreed. Lucasarts always bases their games off of others which really prevents their games from becoming great. Jedi Knight was the only time that Lucasarts really did something innovative and new which would constitute being a great game. I think the origional Jedi Knight game was great.Umm... LucasArts don't make game, LucasArts publish games. And how is Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds is similar to Rogue Squadron or Bounty Hunter? Master William
KOTOR owns, you must be truly insane. As for CS, I stopped playing it because of the community that it has. You will get bashed for not doing this and that, people will talk endlessly in their mics, you will get a bunch of guys going "Omgz u sukzorz i pwned joo". The game is fun, but I only choose to play CS with real friends I know, on private servers with fun maps. About Battlefront, don't try to judge it too much, it has not even been released yet...
