THE BADGER:
I'm interested to see what they look like. Man I can't wait for this game! LOL
joesdomain
You forget that the Imperial Officer is in the game. I have seen at least 3-4 screenshots of that type of trooper on the Star Wars Battlefront page at Lucasarts.com. Lucasarts.com is the official site. PanzerTekk
people have been saying they took it out which is very disapointing.
joesdomain
They better not. I have been waiting for a game where I could play as a Imperial Officer. Who gives a care about a darktrooper which is expanded universe.
SITH_ShadowCat
I care about the dark trooper, he was third on my list to be able to play (with droidekas at 2 and AT-ATs at 1). The officer still lives, only as the scout though, with a diffrent skin. If all you wanted was the skin, then feel free to make one to replace the scout, altough I feel that seems like a pointless effort.
joesdomain
It is not officially confirmed from Lucasarts that they took out the Imperial Officer and put in the Darktrooper. I have read every article on Battlefront and have not seen a credible source say that. Lucasarts doesn't even have the screenshot of the darktrooper in it's archive of 65 screenshots. They have the Imperial Officer in one for sure and maybe two.
SITH_ShadowCat
May sources piont to the imp officer being gone, sorry, I kinda wanted to see one also. Things like short list, previews, vids, and even screenshots nowadays show the dark trooper and not the officer.
TK-8252
The officer bit the dust when they decided to make Pilots into field medics. Sorry, joe. But don't fret! Hopefully I can revive the Imperial Officer as well as other officer and proper support classes in a mod I plan to make. Let's just hope that they include the models as extra stuff. It'd be a shame for good models to go to waste.
joesdomain
I know I saw a screenshot that was put on ign.com under the screenshots section of PS2 version of Battlefront that showed a Imperial Officer and it was listed for June 14, 2004. That was a month ago. I have only seen one screenshot of a darktrooper and that was 4 weeks ago.
joesdomain
I take that back. The screenshot of the Imperial Officer on Endor is listed in the PC screenshot section for Battlefront with a date of June 16,2004. The so called darktrooper everyone is talking about looks like a stormtrooper with a jet pack to me. I believe that is listed as June 09, 2004. I knew the darktrooper being in the game didn't sound right.
Doomie
you it woudln't make much sense either, since Dark Troopers are droids that were only used in one or two battles before they were all destroyed...
PanzerTekk
even in that damn video it calls them dark troopers. I'm pretty sure they are gonna be dark troopers.
joesdomain
I don't believe information that is posted on gamespy, ign, etc. I take all my information from Lucasarts.com and Lucasarts Insider. That is the official site.
Luke'sMaster
there is a video that states there will be a Imp. officer and that he will be able to find rebel spies and send out probe droids, or maybe call down an air strike for a certain area. JamesNI
Well, didn't they remove the Rebel Spies? So they removed the Imperial officer aswell, and fixed up the roster... And the Darktrooper was pretty much confirmed in the new IGN video preview... that is, if the guy doing the voice over was with LucasArts of Panamedic and not IGN. joesdomain
I heard the same thing about using the Imperial Officer to call Imperial Probe Droids and Oribital Strikes. Seeing the Imperial Probe Droid in the game is a must for me.
TK-8252
But, the Scout Trooper has the Recon Droid now. And the Pilot has the Health + Ammo Dispenser. And there's no spies now. So that's all of the Imperial Officer's duties...
vulcan_sniper
Oh, well. I think lucasarts could have kept the spy, and given each other faction another character to be fair. then we could have kept the officer. Lucasarts would only have to create two more classes (republic and separatist). These could have been easily made up for: separatists could have had the droid starfighter as a class instead of a vehicle, and the republic could have used......uummmmmmmmmmmm....... well, the rest dosent matter. The point is that they should have kept the officer,@#$@!
joesdomain
Good point vulcan! The Imperial Officer played important parts in the original trilogy battles at bespin, hoth, and endor. The Darktrooper had no part! Makes me feel less star wars and more sci-fiction to have a darktrooper that is a robot or droid.
