I'm curious: is it possible to convert Dark Forces 2 so as to be able to play it on the Jedi Outcast engine?

I know there was a project called DF2E but they discontinued it.

But it would be the greatest thing to play DF2 again with better graphics.

 

BTW do you think it worths asking LucasArts about it?

Maybe THEY shoud do it. It would be a BIG HIT huh?

You'd have to recreate everthing - you can't just do a straight port from JK, otherwise it would look terrible. And I doubt LA is going to waste manpower on anything to remake a game that is 7 years old. So unless it's a mod, it's not going to happen. It would be cool though.

Lucasarts would never try to re-make JK due to having to convert the different game engines and whatnot. It would simply cost them too much money to re-make a game many gamers have (sadly) forgotten about. That hasn't stopped these enterprising individuals, however. Check it out!

Thanx for your reply. I guess when I have enough time for it I will learn JO or JA editing and make a DF2 TC no matter what effort it costs. DF2 was really cool and LONG wasn't it?

By the way: I wouldn't care about the look after conversion, it's the only thing I can do myself: I'm a PhotoShop expert. I could recreate all textures. What I need is a mod for JO containing the basic "wireframe" of all DF2 levels and it also should have all the enemies (are THESE called BOTs?) and behaviour in it. Can it be done?
