MikeAG
I'm getting Jedi Academy in a few days time, and I was wondering, even though this is an idiotic question, is it any good? And what are some of it's better features?
topshot
One way to actually tell if it were any good would be to download the demo found on Raven's website.
Amidala from Chop Shop
As you probably know, it is really two games, single-player and multiplayer. And, your experience will greatly depend on on what other games you have played. Single-player is quite fun. If you have played Jedi Outcast, you will find Jedi Academy to be "more of the same". Some like it more, others like it less than Jedi Outcast. If you haven't played Jedi Outcast, but have played other Quake III-like games, you will find the fact that the guns are so-so is outweighed by the addition of lightsabers and Force powers, which is what makes these games special. Unfortunately, multiplayer is dominated by players who have twisted and distorted the game into something bizarre. On many if not most servers, you will be "punished", kicked, or banned for attacking other players the "wrong" way. Yes, it's true. If you are used to other online multiplayer FPS games, stay away from multiplayer except for servers running Siege, CTF, Duel, and Power Duel, unless you are a masochist. Overall, definitely worth $25-29 (I assume, of course, that you aren't a pirate).
