shangoman
ICK!!! ya okay have your laugh... open up my FIRST texture file ever, and unfortunately for me is was a head, can we say, ," tell me about to lambs Clarese *flickering tongue and slurping noises*." Shock over, opened up an armor file, some parts I recognized some not, does anyone have a translation for what is where in pix of texture file. I'm guessing the game adds the textures to the models with each area of the 2d texture mapped to an area of the 3d model. My searches just yielding advice of our to complish the task of opening up files and some PS tips. Thx in advance for any advise. Shangoman. There in no ignorance, there is knowledge, but sometimes knowledge is damn unsettling.
Jackel
An easy way to see where each part of the texture file goes on the 3d model is paint each different section different colours. Ie what you think are the legs maybe paint them bright pink. The arms white etc etc. Then load up the game , cheat in the armour you modified , look at the model , maybe write down on a piece of paper *orange - hands , sleeves , collar" and then change the skin to suit how you like. Mav
try coloring certain parts that you think belong to gether certain colors and put it in-game to see how the texture wraps around the model.
shangoman
lol. it often amazes me how simple the solutions to problems can be... once you know the answer of course.
Mav
yea, you know, just wait till you look at the lightsaber hilt model over half of the damn thing isn't even used at all in the wrapping of the model, I believe it was me and Sep that had a running joke about how drunk the people at Bioware were when they designed the textures to wrap the model...lol
shangoman
One giant step for shangoman, one infinitesimal step for the modding community. And yeah I took the easy way and colored the whole ****** pix, but it looks cool. http://home.houston.rr.com/shangoman/blue.jpg *bows and graciously thanks unhonorable Sifus* (Basically everyone who has a note stuck) P.S. Kitty keep up the GGGGGRRRREAT work.
