Which islands make up the triangle? (Mêlée, Booty and Plunder)

 

and all the islands in the triangle or on/near the lines make up the triangle right?

Technically, there doesn't have to be a triangle, there just has to be 3 main islands, hence the Tri (meaning 3), but of course, unless they follow a dead straight line, they would actually have to make a triangle of sorts.

 

 

But, all the islands you visit in the Monkey Island series, save for Monkey Island itself and Dinky island, should be in the Tri-island area.

Where'd you get the pic?

It appears that Mêlée, Scabb, and Plunder make up the triangle and Blood, Skull, Monkey, and Dinky are no part of the tri-island area

I stole it from worldofmi.com, just click on islands on the left hanmd side of the screen. I think it is actually an original created by Paco so stealing and saying it's yours.

 

I think all three islands at the beginning of MI2 are in it, bit Booty is the important one.
