Morgan_Hearst
Again, I'm not overly worried about the layoffs effecting the development of KOTOR III. Remember that both previous games have been made by companies outside of Lucasarts (thank god) and I imagine a third game would follow the same line. The big factor in making a KOTOR III will be the success of KOTOR 2. If it sells, you can bet that a third one will be on the way.

Damn corporate ****tards Wow, apparently no one here has ever had to conduct a layoff before... Let's see layoff some employees to improve financial outlook so that company can stay in business.... or ...keep everyone, lose all the stakeholders' investments, run the company into the ground, and end up having to fire everyone. So, fire a few or fire everybody? Which one sounds better? PS: sorry for derailing the thread.

nacho35
Whew! For some reason, as I was reading the article I had KOTOR II in my head. I thought they had just canned that project. Well, if anyone knows anyone that works in software design they will know that it is a very fickle industry. I had a neighbor that had a very lucrative job for a game design company and then one day out of the blue--no job left. It is very sad, but then the job security in software/IT hasn't been stellar for a few years.
