Doomie
Exactly. Qui-gon didn't become one with the force, so he couldn't help Luke become a jedi thirty years later, so there was no need for Obi-wan to even mention him to Luke. 'In the old days, we used to assign each student to a master, and the council would send them on mssions together to train. and my master was Qui-gon Jinn.' 'But, Ben, there's only one jedi left, and he's too old to fight or even spout out a coherent sentence. Besides, we need to save the Galaxy quick. I don't have tim eot go on missions. And That Qui-Gon guy is dead, he can't help us, right?' That's how it owuld've went would Obi-wan mention Qui-gon in the OT. So you see there was no real reason to mention him, other than the fact that he didn't exist at the time. I hope i'm making sense.

It may have explained things, but the story would make just as much sense without. I would have rather seen ROTS expanded into two films. As far as Episode II, it was at least a close second for me (behind ROTJ), and possibly the best. I liked all of it, so ill say something I dont think has been mentioned yet. I like Dooku, and how he fits in with the lineage of Jedi. (i.e. trained by Yoda, trained Qui-Gon, who trained Obi-Wan, who trained Anakin and Luke, etc.) Also, Death Star revealed. A minor detail, but I thought it was really cool when I saw it.

Actually, I like TPM more now knowing what we know after AOTC. I agree, EP1 had it's weak points, but it was clearly fufilling its purpose, the origins of Aniken Skywalker, oh yeah... and giving us one heck of a cool saber fight! Lieutenant_kettch
EP2 was easily a close second behin ROTJ, but EP1 was nearly worthless, yes, it did offer some insight to obiwan and anakinm which was nice, but the rest of the movie didn't add anything to the plot. And yes shok, the death star was a nice touch.
