Granting force powers with an item?

Is it possible for a item to grant a force power, even if the equipped character is not force sensitive? For example an armband that grants force lightning to the character.

 

I haven't had a chance to try o figure it out, I'm still learning stuff, and I'm not at home right now to try it myself. So I thought I would just ask.

The animation will be that of the character activating an armband, not extending an arm and wielding lightning. The armband can be made to use charges (and be consumed) or be unlimited. Finally, using an armband in this manner cannot target hostile creature normally -- a droid utility can, however, if you're using T3M4 or HK47.

Oooh, ooh, I forgot to mention one really fun thing to do with the "force choke armband". You know that racist preacher on Taris? Yeah, that guy. I summoned the armband and choked him. He deserved it.

That was the first guy I went after too.

 

You know who's just as fun? The protocol droids walking on the Taris sidewalks. They just fall over backwards. Really funny.
