Nairb Notneb Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 Well, since the state of Florida was hit about three weeks ago by Hurricane Charley and is about to be hit again by Frances and another storm (soon) to be named Ivan, not to mention the Carolinas being pummeled by Gaston, I thought that I would simply as you folks your opinion. Which natural disaster is the worst and why? Just name it and support your answer. I've been through tornadoes, blizzards, hurricanes, floods and lightning but I always had at least some warning, at least a few hours. But I think that earthquakes are terrible because there is no warning at all that they are coming. Plus they mess with the very ground that we walk on. Everything that we build has to sit on that ground and when that foundation is no longer there it is very frightening. I find that to be terrible. Most other tragedies can be prevented or prepared for in some way, or you can at least be warned and get away with today's technology. What do you think?
Sam Fisher Posted September 9, 2004 Posted September 9, 2004 Right now I think getting hit by 3 hurricanes in a row really must suck the most
Mono_Giganto Posted September 11, 2004 Posted September 11, 2004 Sucks being without power for such a long time, but I must say, earthquakes aren't cool.
Nairb Notneb Posted September 22, 2004 Author Posted September 22, 2004 After seeing what Haiti is going through I want to add mud slides to the list. Hurricane Jeanne has caused horrendous flooding that started these slides, which by the way have , at this point in time, killed over 700 people there. Mud slides are bad.
